From products to construction
Nobilia entered the Chinese market in 1997 and became the first imported brand to introduce imported cabinets installed from Germany to China. Raumplus was founded in 1986 by Mr. Raumplus. Founded in Bremen, Germany, Jürgen Guddas is a family-owned company based on the German combination of raum, which means space and plus stands for expansion and integration. Raumplus is Europe's top custom home furnishing brand, covering more than 70 countries and regions, with more than 1,000 showrooms. In 2018, Parklane Nobilia established a joint venture with Raumplus in China, and in 2019, it invested in the construction of the first high-end wardrobe and sliding door production and R&D base in China, built by two major German home furnishing giants. This Asia-Pacific headquarters project that marks Industry 4.0 is located in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, covering an area of 300 acres. The project uses organic, sustainable new technology materials, integrates design and green, and is committed to "carbon neutrality" and its own social responsibility in sustainable development. Design from the product to the building, is the transformation of the human scale, rhythmic proportions to form a rhythm, and the rhythm to form a sense of beauty that can be perceived, the design of Parklane and Delu products all reflect the requirements of product quality and design itself, but also obey the specific product function.

The concept of environmental protection and green health of the products of Park Lane and Delu brand also inspired us to use organic and sustainable new technology materials in this project. The brand is also committed to the construction of a contemporary, environmentally friendly and natural international design factory and brand headquarters base, and this commitment has also been recognized: at the beginning of the project in 2024, it has been awarded the international green building LEED gold certification.

Sustainable from the outside in
Concise and powerful volume is an important factor in the formation of brand recognition, we focus on the visual tension of the building itself, and use the contrast between virtual and real to form a multi-level spatial relationship. Use the brand's corporate colors to design a rhythmic façade appearance that creates a simple and effective brand identity.

Through the reconstruction of the artistic conception of the woods, a sense of rhythm similar to a musical score is created to break the oppression of the environment by the large scale of the building, and a series of windows are formed in the middle of this sequence, so that production itself becomes the theme of viewing, like a modern industrial film interpretation, heralding the arrival of a new and revolutionary way of life.

The APAC R&D Headquarters is conceived as a miniature environment that hosts research, experimentation, management, exhibition, and product launch. On plan, four intersecting rectangular volumes protect a long courtyard. In terms of sections, the large volume on the ground floor is outlined by artificial stone, while the second floor, covered by a glass curtain wall, is a sculptural volume wrapped in zinc sheets. The building's exterior styling is inspired by the angular lines of German sports cars, such as the BMW M1. The inner garden is a central meeting place for all departments in the R&D center, and the garden is also an informal outdoor stage with stepped seating and a central stage. All three floors of office space open to the internal garden, which allows for natural light and access to the central space with balconies and terraces. The slender courtyard is also reminiscent of the timeless Fiat factory in Turin, Italy.

Employees can share most of the space facing the scenery and opening onto the terrace, including the dining room, staff lounge, multi-purpose hall, etc. We want to create an environment where our staff are inspired, proud, and relaxed. At the same time, we also strive to create a lot of spaces with unclear functions, and we want everyone who works here to have their favorite corner, whether it's outdoors, indoors, or everything in between. The vertical tower at the southwest corner of the building is a public gathering space: its ground floor is a public dining room, and all floors above it have open public open spaces. All of the interiors here face the stream flowing to the west.

The interior is made of simple materials, with engineered stone flooring in the common areas and carpeting in the office and R&D spaces for future flexibility. Most of the vertical surfaces are made of metal, stone, and glass, and the ceilings are kept clean and bare to create height and spatial flexibility. All interior partitions, sliding doors, and built-in cabinets are made from Parklane and Delux's own products. The idea is that the internal workspace of the R&D center is also a "live showroom" where employees move between the products they design and produce.

A fit from the office to the factory
The hue of the exterior material extends to the façade of the production plant. The vertical gradient provides visual rhythm to the horizontal volume, while blending in with the tracery design. The interior of the factory is illuminated by a large number of skylights. The production line operates in an indoor environment with almost zero dust. The landscape design is based on the concept of a sponge city, with the help of underground infiltration of natural rainwater. Large water features and undulating ground views break the monotony of the site itself. A large number of trees are planted on the south side of the building. Over time, the trees will grow to provide shade for the parking area and provide visual cushioning for the main façade of the R&D center.
