  After experiencing the ebb and flow of the domestic SUV market, in recent years, independent brands have shifted their attention back to the sedan field, and focused on the mainstream household market, and launched a number of powerful compact cars. In previous new car commerciality evaluations, we have tested a number of self-owned brand compact cars, including pure fuel, gasoline-electric hybrid, plug-in hybrid and other energy types. Today, we have selected four popular models and compared them with various test data to see which one has the advantage in terms of commerciality.

  1. Body technology

  In the body process, judging from the test results, the overall performance of Chery Arrizo 8 is good, and the average gap of all test points of the whole car is controlled within 4mm, but the average gap between the left and right sides of the rear fender and the trunk connection is slightly different, which has a certain impact on the test results. The test results of Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing and Geely Galaxy L6 are also remarkable, with only a few test points with large average gaps. In contrast, the values of Changan Yida fluctuate greatly between the test points of the whole vehicle, and there is room for improvement in the uniformity of the gaps.

  It should be noted that the roof of the Geely Galaxy L6 is made of non-metallic materials, so no relevant values were detected during the test.

  In the paint film level, according to the test results, the thickness of the paint film in all parts of the Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing car exceeds the standard value of high-end cars (120μm-150μm), and the value fluctuation between each test point is not large, and the spraying uniformity is excellent. The average thickness of Chery Arrizo 8 and Changan Yida is also good, but the uniformity of spraying needs to be improved. For Geely Galaxy L6, although the thickness of the paint film in most parts does not reach the standard value of high-end cars, the uniformity of spraying is still remarkable due to the small fluctuation between the values between the test points.

  3. Air quality in the car

  In the in-vehicle air quality test, formaldehyde was not detected in the four vehicles, which met the relevant standards in the "Guidelines for the Evaluation of Interior Air Quality in Passenger Cars" (National Standard GB/T 27630-2011) jointly issued by the former Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China since March 1, 2012.

  In the interior noise test, in addition to testing the noise in the car when the car is stationary, the test instrument is placed about 10cm away from the air conditioning outlet, and then the air conditioning air volume is increased from small to large, and the air conditioning noise level at the driver's position is measured in different gears.

  After actual measurement, in the stationary state, the four cars have reached the lowest value of the test instrument 30dB, because Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing and Geely Galaxy L6 are equipped with diesel-electric hybrid and plug-in hybrid systems respectively, the engine does not work by default in the idle state, so it is impossible to test the noise of the engine at 2000 rpm and 3000 rpm. Both the Chery Arrizo 8 and Changan Yida are powered by fuel, with the former being less noisy when the engine is at 3,000 rpm, while the latter is less noisy when the engine is idle and at 2,000 rpm.

  In terms of the lowest and highest noise levels of the air conditioner, the Geely Galaxy L6 performs relatively well, especially the noise level of the starting gear of the air conditioner, which is significantly lower than that of the other three models. As for the highest-end noise level of the air conditioner, there is not much difference between the three cars of Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing, Chery Arrizo 8, and Changan Yida.

  5. Static vibration in the car

  In the static in-vehicle vibration test, the vibration values of the Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing and Geely Galaxy L6 steering wheels in both idle and load states are 0, and the vibration values of the front and rear seats are also at a relatively low level and the change range is not large, and the overall performance is remarkable. In contrast, the vibration value of the Changan Yida steering wheel in both states was higher, resulting in a less than satisfactory final test result.

  In the sunroof test, the Geely Galaxy L6 is equipped with a non-opening panoramic sunroof, and the other three cars are equipped with a panoramic sunroof that can be opened. In terms of specific size, according to the existing test data, Geely Galaxy L6 has a larger sunroof lighting area, while Changan Yida is better in terms of sunroof opening area.

  7. Control system

  In terms of control systems, the steering wheels of the four cars are all relatively moderate in size, taking into account the stability and agility of handling. In terms of steering wheel adjustment, the Geely Galaxy L6 is significantly ahead of the other three cars in terms of up and down adjustable angles, while the Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing has a wider steering wheel adjustment distance before and after.

  In terms of the width of the accelerator pedal, the width of the brake pedal, and the step difference between the brake pedal and the accelerator pedal, the accelerator pedal width of the Chery Arrizo 8 is relatively large. In addition, the width of the brake pedal is the same for all four cars, and the difference between the accelerator pedal and the brake pedal is also within a reasonable range, so it is not easy to get tired when driving in congested road conditions.

  In terms of foot pedals, Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing and Geely Galaxy L6 are both made of rubber, and the length and width are also slightly ahead, and the overall performance is even better.

  In terms of seat configuration, according to the measured data, the Geely Galaxy L6 has a large range of travel adjustment for the main driver's seat, which can meet the driving habits of most drivers.

  In terms of seat cushion length, the Geely Galaxy L6 and Chery Arrizo 8 both have a front seat cushion length of more than 500mm, especially the latter, with a value of 540mm, which is at the upper level of the same class of models tested. In contrast, the front and rear seat cushions of Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing and Changan Yida are short, and it is easy to get tired after a long ride.

  In terms of the raised height of the rear floor, Changan Yida has outstanding performance, with a value of only 50mm, while the Chery Arrizo 8 has a large rear floor protrusion height, which will have a certain impact on ride comfort.

  In terms of trunk, judging from the measured data, the Geely Galaxy L6 trunk opening has a regular shape, a large opening area, and excellent practicality. Although Changan Yida has outstanding performance in terms of maximum trunk width and threshold height, it is significantly behind the other three cars in terms of minimum width, and the trunk regularity needs to be improved.

  10. Parking radar

  In the radar induction test, according to the existing test data, Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing rear radar detection ability is strong, the longest detection distance reaches 1.5m, and the radar power performance is good. Referring to the experience of previous tests, the closer to 0.25m in the continuous beep phase is, the closer it is to daily use habits. Judging from the measured data, Changan Yida's rear radar continuous beep prompt distance is completely consistent with the test experience value, and the rear radar continuous beep prompt distance of the other three cars is more or less different from the test experience value, which needs to be optimized.

  In terms of front radar, Chery Arrizo 8 has stronger detection capabilities, while Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing's radar power is slightly weaker. In terms of the continuous beep phase to indicate the distance, the gap between the Chery Arrizo 8 and the test experience points is smaller.

  11. Lighting vision

  In the blind spot test of the front vision, we used a 70cm high bucket as a reference, and then adjusted the relative position of the vehicle until the upper edge of the bucket was visible from the main driver's seat. According to the existing test data, the front vision of Geely Galaxy L6, Chery Arrizo 8 and Changan Yida is better than the average of the same class, of which the closest distance of Changan Yida is only 1.4m, and the blind spot of the front vision is small. In terms of blind spots in the rear vision, the Geely Galaxy L6 has outstanding test results, and the other three cars have not reached the average level of the same class.

  In the field of view test of the exterior mirror, Changan Yida scored outstanding results in the left exterior mirror, and the test score of the right exterior mirror also reached the average level of the same level. Although Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing has a large field of vision in the right exterior mirror, the test score of the left exterior mirror does not reach the average level of the same level.

  Summary:

  Through the comparison of the above items, it is not difficult to find that the performance of the four self-owned brand compact cars selected this time is satisfactory in terms of commerciality. Among them, the Chery Arrizo 8 performed well in terms of exterior workmanship, seat cushion length, and front radar detection distance, and only scored at the bottom in the rear floor protrusion height test. The score gap between Geely Xingrui L Zhiqing and Geely Galaxy L6 is small, and the merchandisability performance is relatively balanced. As the model with the lowest price in this comparison, although Changan Yida has not achieved satisfactory results in individual test items, there are no obvious shortcomings. On the whole, the performance of the four cars in terms of commerciality is remarkable, and consumers can choose according to their needs.
