"The Immortal Father: The Art of Yao Hua" was held at the Tsinghua University Art Museum

Jointly curated by the Guizhou Provincial Museum and the Tsinghua University Art Museum, the "Immortal Father: Yao Hua Art Exhibition" was recently launched at the Tsinghua University Art Museum. Through 186 pieces of precious calligraphy and painting, documents, inscriptions, engraved copper, paper and other physical objects, the exhibition comprehensively presents Yao Hua's outstanding talents and contributions in the fields of poetry, calligraphy, painting, research, seal carving, and copper painting, in order to let the audience know a talented and three-dimensional Mr. Daddy.

Yao Hua was also a faculty member at Tsinghua University in its early days.

Yao Hua was a very important cultural sage in modern Guizhou after Zheng Zhen (1806-1864) and Mo Youzhi (1811-1871), and he was also a Chinese language teacher in Tsinghua School during the founding period of Tsinghua University. Yao Hua is a famous poet, scholar, educator, writer, goldsmith, calligrapher, painter and opera theorist in mainland China. He and his friend Chen Shizeng had a similar voice, and was recognized as the leader of the Beijing painting scene in the early years of the Republic of China, and was known as "Yao Chen" for a while. Yao Hua left behind a large number of brilliant poems, poems, and songs, and unique calligraphy and paintings. In his later years, he personally compiled 31 volumes of "Futang Class Manuscripts", which was funded and published by his disciple Wang Boqun, and also published works such as "The Wind Painting Collection of the Father", "The Collection of Five Words and Flying Birds", "The Song of the Moon" and "Shushi".

From September 2023 to January 2024, the Guizhou Provincial Museum gave full play to its cultural potential and held the "Immortal Father: A Generation of Scholars Yao Hua Art Exhibition", which achieved good social repercussions and was selected as one of the 100 popular exhibitions in the cultural and museum industry in 2023.

The Guizhou Provincial Museum and the Tsinghua University Art Museum jointly planned and launched the "Immortal Father: A Generation of Tongren Yao Hua Art Exhibition", which can allow more people to experience the humanities and arts contained in the land of Guizhou, and appreciate the unique natural wonders and colorful cultural charm of Guizhou. The exhibition will be on view at Exhibition Hall 10 on the fourth floor of Tsinghua University Art Museum until November 10, 2024.
