Recently, the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Finance and other seven departments jointly issued the "Detailed Rules for the Implementation of Automobile Trade-in Subsidy" issued, from now until the end of 2024, new passenger car consumers who meet the requirements can receive a one-time fixed car purchase subsidy, with a maximum subsidy of 10,000 yuan.

This subsidy scheme still looks very attractive, especially for ordinary scooter consumers, it is absolutely meaningful to save 10,000 yuan for a vehicle of about 100,000 yuan.

However, there are prerequisites for subsidies, first of all, there is a fixed subsidy for the old for the new, and secondly, the requirement for the old car is not "replacement" but "replacement".

Trade-in requirements for fuel vehicles

For owners of passenger cars with scrapped China III emission standards and lower emission standards, or new energy passenger vehicles registered before April 30, 2018 (inclusive), if they purchase fuel-powered passenger cars with a displacement of less than 2.0 liters (inclusive), a subsidy of 7,000 yuan will be given.

It means that if you want to get a subsidy of 7,000 yuan, you first need to scrap the old fuel vehicle or new energy vehicle under your name, and then buy a new car with the vehicle premium certificate to get the fixed subsidy.

Now the key point is the fuel vehicle of the national III emission standard, how old is the vehicle?

China III emissions are implemented from July 1, 2008 to July 1, 2011, and this year is 2024, that is to say, the maximum age of the China III emission standard is 16 years, and the minimum age is 13 years. Of course, this is only a conclusion drawn from the perspective of the evaluation of the value of the old car, unless it is a luxury car, the general scooter in the age of more than 15 years, its residual value is only a few thousand yuan, if the car is not very good will be as low as three or four thousand yuan.

Therefore, it is possible to consider choosing to scrap old cars and replace them with new ones, but the scrapping subsidy is often only a few hundred yuan, and the comprehensive trade-in subsidy is not particularly high.

Requirements for trade-in of new energy vehicles

A subsidy of 10,000 yuan will be given to scrap the above-mentioned standard fuel vehicles or new energy passenger vehicles, and purchase passenger cars included in the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's "Catalogue of New Energy Vehicle Models for Reduction and Exemption of Vehicle Purchase Tax".

The premise is the same, either scrap the old fuel vehicles that are 16-18 years old, or scrap the new energy passenger vehicles registered before April 30, 2018, otherwise they will not be able to get subsidies.

However, there is a point that is difficult to understand, 2018 is only six years to now! The theoretical working conditions of six-year-old new energy passenger vehicles should be very ideal standards, even if the power battery is not to the extent of excessive capacity attenuation. In addition to the power battery, the working condition of the motor and electronic control unit with a long service life should also be very good, and the working conditions of other assemblies and frames are not to mention, so scrapping these cars seems to be too wasteful of resources.

However, from another perspective, a different conclusion will be reached, if it is an accident car that has been overhauled, and the original car price is not high, then it is cost-effective for these cars to choose to replace them with subsidies.

Conversely, vehicles in good working condition do not need to be scrapped and replaced.
