The Hunan Provincial Meteorological Observatory issued a strong convective blue warning at 16 o'clock on April 28: Until 20 o'clock on the 29th, there will be 8-10 thunderstorms with strong winds or hail in the south of Zhuzhou, eastern Hengyang, southern Yueyang, southwest Yiyang, northern Chenzhou, Huaihua, northwest of Loudi, and southern Xiangxi Prefecture, accompanied by local short-term heavy precipitation, please strengthen precautions.
Early warning of geological disasters and meteorological risks
According to the law of geological disasters and the conditions of disaster pregnancy, combined with the short-term meteorological forecast on April 28, 2024, the Provincial Department of Natural Resources and the Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly concluded that from 20:00 on April 28 to 20:00 on April 29, due to the influence of rainfall, the risk of sudden geological disasters in some areas west of central Hunan is high (yellow warning).

Flash flood risk warning
According to the forecast of the Provincial Meteorological Bureau on April 28, the Provincial Water Conservancy Department and the Provincial Meteorological Bureau jointly concluded that flash floods may occur in the northeast and north of Shaoyang City, the northeast and central part of Huaihua City, the north, southwest and northwest of Shaoyang City, the northeast and north of Huaihua City, the west and northwest of Loudi City, the west and southwest of Yiyang City, and the west and west of Changsha City. From the night of the 29th to the day of the 30th, there were heavy to heavy rains in the south of central Hunan and northeast Hunan on cloudy days, heavy rains in Zhuzhou (urban areas, Chaling, Youxian) and Hengyang (Hengdong, Hengnan, Hengshan), light to moderate showers or thundershowers turned cloudy in other areas, north winds were 2~3, local gusts of 8~10 during thunderstorms, the highest temperature was 18 °C~20 °C in northwest Hunan and 21 °C~23 °C in other areas, and the lowest temperature was 15 °C~17 °C in western and northern Hunan and 17 °C~19 °C in other areas.
From the night of the 30th to the day of May 1st, it was cloudy with light to moderate rain in southern Shonan, cloudy with cloudy skies in other areas, north wind 2~3, maximum temperature of 19 °C ~ 21 °C in northeast and south of Hunan Province, 17 °C ~ 19 °C in other areas, and minimum temperature of 14 °C ~ 16 °C.
