Be bold and innovative on the basis of respecting tradition. Do not copy the "T-shaped" silk paintings and other cultural relics unearthed in Mawangdui, Changsha, but organically intercept some meaningful pictures and elements inside, such as carriage and horse travel, feather people, wrestlers, fairies, flying sky, cloud dragon patterns, Han figurines, various animals, etc., the color of the whole group of works is slightly adjusted, aiming to highlight the temperament of Changsha Internet celebrities, and strive to be more in line with the aesthetic needs of urban young people. Dingwangtai was built by Liu Fa, the son of Emperor Jing of the Western Han Dynasty, and the king of Changsha. Every year, he had to select the best rice, order a special person to ride it to Chang'an to honor his mother, and then transport it back to Chang'an's soil to build a platform in Changsha. Year after year, the earth brought back from Chang'an was built into a high platform. Whenever the sun sets, Liu Fa goes to Taipei to look forward to send his thoughts about his mother. Therefore, "Dingwangtai" is also known as "Wangmutai".

Dingwangtai was later destroyed in the war, until the Song Dynasty, Changsha School Palace was built here, and for a time, it became a place where talented people and celebrities competed to hang the ancient by the railing. However, in the Ming Dynasty, the record of Dingwangtai gradually became barren. It was not until the reconstruction in 1814 that the Dingwangtai began to regain its former glory. Later, Changsha opened Siyi Bookstore here, and later Hunan Library. Dingwangtai has gradually become synonymous with Changsha culture. It's a pity that a fire in 1938 turned all the architectural traces of Dingwangtai into nothingness.

The predecessor of Dingwangtai Book Market was Huangni Street Book Market. In the 80s of the last century, the booksellers on Huangni Street relied on the small facades of residential buildings to create a prosperous scene in the history of China's contemporary book industry. In the memory of all old Changsha people, to buy books, you should go to Huangni Street. In 1988, there were 188 bookstores in Wong Nai Street, which was awarded the reputation of "the first of the four major book markets" in the country. In 1990, the number of bookstores in the Huangni Street Book Market exceeded 200, and in 1996, it grew to 286, becoming the first of the two channels for book distribution in China. In 1997, the Huangni Street Book Market was relocated to Dingwangtai, and Dingwangtai once again turned prosperous. As one of the four major book markets in the country at that time, it was crowded with people and a prosperous scene.

Although most people's reading habits have slowly transformed into online reading, Dingwangtai, a well-known book market in China that has been glorious for more than ten years, still retains the unique bookish charm of traditional paper reading. Although there are now great discounts on e-commerce book purchases, visiting offline bookstores to find the books you like is also a way to regain the joy of reading in your memory.

Jianxiang Road, which began in the seventies of the last century, is a 4.85-kilometer-long urban trunk road, starting from Wujialing in the north to Tianxin Pavilion Chengnan Road in the south, connecting with Tianxin Road, connecting with Jianxiang South Road, Jianxiang Middle Road and Jianxiang North Road.

In 2021, Furong District implemented the "One Ring, Two Belts, Sixteen Vertical and Sixteen Horizontal" project, and after the centralized transformation of the old city, Jianxiang Road was transformed into one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in old Changsha.

Now Jianxiang Road, jewelry, restaurants, retail stores, cafes, trendy brand stores are all here, and each store has its own unique design at the door, competing with each other. The lattice-like houses on both sides, and the whitewashed macaron tones, add a touch of romance to the already market-like Jianxiang Road.

Once known as the "most beautiful and warmest" in Changsha, the "Zhijian Bookstore" hidden in the city, walked into it, surrounded by all kinds of books, covering literature, history, philosophy and art, life books, and cultural life products full of design, each item has a unique charm. In this space of nearly 1,200 square meters, my heart gradually becomes calm, and I stay all day if I am not careful. Body and soul, there is always one on the road to Jianxiang.

On the Liucheng Bridge on Jianxiang Road, there is a towering city gate about 20m high, and the words "ancient Liuyang Gate" are particularly eye-catching. Liuyang Gate is one of the east gates of the ancient city of Changsha, which was built in the period of the Five Dynasties and is one of the nine old gates of Changsha. Liucheng Bridge is the location of the original Liuyang Gate, because Liuyang is in the east of Changsha, therefore, Liuyang Gate is also the east gate of Changsha. Walking out of this gate, it is the road to Liuyang. After a hundred years from the demolition, in September 2021, the antique Liuyang Gate was rebuilt at the entrance of Liuzheng Street, with blue bricks and tiles, and towering pavilions.

Liuzheng Street was named after the ancient Liuyang Gate in Changsha, and was named Dongzheng Street in the Qing Dynasty, because it was named after the main passage in and out of Liuyang Gate, and was known as Liuyangmen Street, later referred to as Liuzheng Street. It was originally one of the main roads for Changsha citizens to go out of the city during the ancient Ming and Qing dynasties. Qing Guangxu's "Shanhua County Chronicles" contains: "Dongzheng Street is Liuyangmen Street, and Zhu Dunhou repaired in the Ming Dynasty. "In 2021, the landscape of the ancient Liuyang Gate will be restored at the entrance of Liuzheng Street, and the old street will also be renovated on Liuzheng Street. This century-old street carries the life memories of the old Changsha people, and also accommodates the alternation of the old and the new.

Liuzheng Street starts from Liucheng Bridge in the east and reaches Dongqing Street in the west, with a total length of about 300 meters, Liuzheng Street retains the very simple style of Changsha Old Town. The pattern of streets and alleys has not changed, nor has it dissipated in the wave of large-scale urbanization, becoming the dust of historical annihilation, but has become a living fossil to observe the life style of Changsha's old citizens.

In 1903, Zhou Zhenlan, then a member of the League and one of the figures of the Hunan Uprising during the Xinhai Revolution, and Japanese students Xu Yuping and Yu Jingyi petitioned the government to run a school and rent a house at the high wharf in Nancheng to build a school, named "Xiuye", that is, the meaning of cultivating virtue and dedication, and opened on August 18 of that year. In 1910, the school was located on Mawang Street.

On the eve of the May Fourth Movement in 1919, Mao Zedong came to the Xiuxue School, and under the cover of his profession as a history teacher, he engaged in revolutionary activities, and founded the progressive journal "Xiangjiang Review" in the name of the Hunan Provincial Federation of Students and wrote articles himself. In December of that year, Mao Zedong led the struggle of the Hunan people to expel the warlord Zhang Jingyao at the Xiu Ye School, and launched a general strike across the province, and the teachers and students of the Xiu Hua School were the first to respond. Mao Zedong, Xu Teli, Huang Xing, Zhou Shizhao, Ouyang Meisheng, and other educators and revolutionaries successively taught in the study of the university; during Huang Xing's tenure as a physical education teacher, he founded the Huaxing Society, where Xu Teli cut off his fingers and wrote in blood; Zhu Rongji, Wang Shoudao, Mao Zetan, Tian Han, Ye Xuanning, Zhang Yang, and Ouyang Li'an received basic education here.

Duzheng Street is 314 meters long, 5.5 meters wide, east of Tianxin Pavilion, west of Cai Yi Road, north of Renmin West Road, south of County Street, is located in the south side of Jiefang Road, Furong District, backed by Tianxin Pavilion only left "old city roots", profound cultural and historical heritage, is one of the historical streets and alleys preserved in Changsha, named after the location of the capital office in the early Qing Dynasty.

From the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, Duzheng Street was densely populated and prosperous, and there were cultural streets and alleys such as Gaozheng Street, Xianzheng Street, Hele Street, Machu Lane, Tiepu Lane, Qingxiangliu Lane, and Dongchi. "A day in the dust travels to Xiangchu Wuyi Lane, reminiscing about thousands of seasons and dreams around Changsha Food Street. This is the best portrayal of the past and present life of this historical street.

The block once gathered the Chenghuang Temple of Shanhua County, known as the "Dingxiang Wang Temple", the Zhan Wang Palace to commemorate the ancestor of Hunan cuisine, and the Taohuajing that inherits the Huxiang culture and the style of the pear garden, etc., which are the witnesses of the history of the ancient city of Changsha.

Compared with the crowded Taiping Street and Pozi Street, Duzheng Street is more calm and heavy, comfortable and leisurely. In your spare time, you can walk around the old street and shuttle through the ancient alleys, and you can feel the charm of the ancient city under the city wall of Tianxin Pavilion and the atmosphere of the quiet market.

Small hidden in the wild, big hidden in the city.

Located in the most central part of Changsha City, the "Baiguoyuan Block" stretches from Cai Yi Road in the east, Huangxing Road in the west, Hualongchi in the south, and Jiefang West in the north. Because there were a few towering trees at the entrance of the alley in the past, they would produce many white fruits in summer, so it was named White Fruit Orchard. The alley is curved and irregular S-shaped, and it is also one of the only four ancient granite streets in Changsha City. The ancient granite road, Shikumen, clear water brick walls, and old-fashioned mansions can instantly bring you back to the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China.

Passing through the bustling traffic of Jiefang West and stepping into the quiet alleys of Taoyuan, my ears suddenly became quiet. During the Republic of China, half of the wealthy people in Changsha lived in this alley, and there were many mansions in the alley. The intersection of Renmin West Road and Baiguoyuan Lane is where the remains of the Eight Gonggou are located. Together with the granite road, it is one of the oldest remnants of the alley. North of Gonggou, No. 33 Baiguoyuan, a courtyard surrounded by blue bricks behind the door of Daise. The nameplate embedded in the wall tiles is engraved with the history of this small courtyard in traditional characters: "The former site of the Xiangjiang Review Printing Office", as the first newspaper founded and edited by Mao Zedong and one of the most outstanding revolutionary publications of the May Fourth period, you can still see the echoes of the years that pointed out the country and inspired the words. The Cheng Qian Mansion at No. 23 Baiguoyuan is now open to the public as the Hunan Peaceful Liberation Historical Exhibition Hall. The two-storey blue brick building is simple and elegant, showing the typical architectural style of Changsha during the Republic of China. This is the former residence of the patriotic general Cheng Qian, and it is also the secret junction point of the peaceful liberation of Hunan.

Walking through Baiguoyuan Lane, Sujia Lane and Fengying Xili, while reminiscing about the old memories, you can also find an interesting scene of natural growth into a market and fashion, tea, rice, oil and salt, and literary and artistic pleasures. There have been a lot of fashionably decorated shops in Sujia Lane, and from Sujia Lane to Fengying Xili, the fashion of the old street is even more sufficient. Since 2019, many young people have moved into Lao Cai with a trendy lifestyle, which has revitalized the place. Characteristic B&Bs, creative restaurants, cafes, vintage clothing, and boutiques are gathered on this street, so that a "small but beautiful" space is formed, and it is deeply integrated and symbiotic with the community. These spaces vary in style, some are intimate and lovely, and some are difficult to find in deep alleys. These emerging forces that promote the development of urban life are continuing the poetry and comfort of this neighborhood for a hundred years.
