The Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport said that the operation of the national highway network during the "May Day" holiday will show a large total number of road network trips, a high proportion of self-driving trips, a concentrated traffic flow in the road network, and more inter-provincial travel, a rapid recovery of commercial passenger transport, high-level operation, prominent tidal characteristics, and obvious congestion periods. It is estimated that the average daily cross-regional flow of people during the holiday period will reach more than 270 million, exceeding the level of the same period in 2023 and 2019, of which the proportion of self-driving travel will reach about 80%.
