Once upon a time, there was an old grandfather, and his name was Yugong. There are two big mountains in front of Yugong's house, they are called Taihang Mountain and Wangwu Mountain. These two mountains blocked the way for Yugong and the villagers to go outside the village.
A long long time ago, there lived an old man named Yu Gong, which means "foolish old man" in English. In front of Yu Gong’s home were two massive mountains, known as Taihang Mountain and Wangwu Mountain. These mountains blocked the path from the village to the outside world.
One day, Yu Gong gathered his family and said, "Let's dig up these two mountains and move their earth and rocks to the river, so that we can easily get out of the village." The family agreed, and they thought it was a good idea.

However, an old man named Zhi Sou, which means "clever old man" in English, thought Yu Gong was foolish and laughed at him, saying, “You are so old and with so little strength, and these mountains are so vast, how could you possibly finish this task?” Yu Gong smiled and replied, “After I die, my sons and my grandsons will continue to dig. Generation after generation will persist, and one day, we will flatten these mountains.”
The Jade Emperor was very moved to see Yu Gong's perseverance, so he ordered the two Hercules to move the mountain elsewhere. In the end, there was no longer a mountain in front of Yugong and the villagers, they could move around freely, and life became better.
The Jade Emperor, seeing Yu Gong's unwavering determination, was deeply moved and commanded two powerful deities to move the mountains elsewhere. Eventually, there were no mountains blocking Yu Gong and the villagers anymore, allowing them to freely roam around. Life became much better for them all.
This story teaches us that as long as we are determined, not afraid of difficulties, and persevering, there is nothing that cannot be done.
