The "UK dCS Tour" specially planned by Sunho Media will start on April 21, 2024, and after a 13-hour flight and a 1.5-hour drive, it will arrive at the dCS factory in Cambridge, UK. The trip has a number of domestic dCS authorized dealers including Guangzhou Elegant Audio Garden, Beijing Beichang Audio, Guangzhou Shunjing Audio, Hangzhou Yiyuan Audio, Chengdu Chaoyin, Wuxi Yinhai Audio, etc. Without further ado, let's first review the highlights of the first day's itinerary through pictures.
▲ The itinerary on the first day was very tight, and in the morning, Mr. David Steven, the current owner, introduced the history of the company
▲ Then Mr. Dan Thomas and Mr. Colin Barker led a tour of various departments of the factory to understand the production process
▲ Dan Thomas first introduced the production process of the product, after the components provided by the upstream supplier are sent to the dCS factory, the circuit part will be preliminarily assembled, and then the power test will be written into the software
▲ Then it is handed over to the automatic test equipment developed by dCS for up to 300 times of various parameter tests
▲ After passing the test, the machine will be further installed
▲ After assembly, a series of parameter testing processes will be carried out to ensure that the design standards can still be met after assembly, and then sent to the sound detection engineer for inspection to ensure that the machine sound works normally

▲ The above is the production process of dCS's Vivaldi, Rossini, and Bartók series, and for the new Lina series, there is another completely different set of production and testing procedures: Lina's components are composed of two material boxes, which are equipped with metal shell parts and electronic parts, which are convenient for engineers to install, and Lina will be tested up to 160 times of various parameters after installation, and it will be allowed to be packaged and shipped after completion
▲ Immediately afterwards, Mr. Dan Thomas led a special tour of the production equipment and component warehouse specially used for clock adjustment, and showed us the various states of the Rossini CD front panel from the whole aluminum brick to the finished product
▲ Mr. Colin Barker specially showed us the unqualified products detected in the automatic test procedure, and each unit has a detailed test report to inform the reason for the failure, which shows that the measurement procedure of dCS is extremely strict, so the products of dCS are very durable
▲ In the afternoon, Mr. James Cook, Product Marketing Manager, introduced the core digital technology of dCS in great detail, including the unique FPGA technology, the technical characteristics of Ring DAC, and the APEX upgrade
The second part of the afternoon was the listening part, and the audience was auditioned by Mr. Alasdair McDonald, the Export Sales Manager, who was a local distributor of dCS before joining dCS, so he was very familiar with the product and the audition process. The whole audition was carried out in a step-by-step manner, first listening to Lina's DAC, then adding Lina Clock, then auditioning Bartók, Rossini and Vivaldi, each level made obvious progress, and finally a special audition of Bartók's APEX version compared to the non-APEX version, the effect was quite obvious.
