On April 24, 2024, with a warm spring breeze and a sunny day, the volunteers of our "warm" volunteer service detachment for the elderly and widows, with deep respect and love for the elderly, stepped into the recreation and pension apartment in Hechuan District and carried out a volunteer service activity with the theme of "Time is not old, accompany with heart".
Here, we weave a warm memory with the elderly. The volunteers talked cordially with the elderly and patiently listened to their stories about the long-forgotten past, as if every word carried a heavy history. At the same time, we also sent intimate services to the elderly, from beating their backs and shoulders to trimming their nails, from combing their hair to chatting with them, every detail reveals our deep care for the elderly.
In order to make the birthdays of the elderly more memorable, we also specially prepared a unique group birthday party for them. The scene was warmly and festively decorated, with streamers fluttering, balloons swaying, and the candlelight on the cake reflecting the happy smiles of the old people. When the volunteers sang the birthday song in unison, the whole scene was filled with joy and warmth.
After the event, we said goodbye to the old people, but the deep friendship remained in each other's hearts forever. We deeply understand that caring for the elderly is not only a social responsibility, but also a kind of emotional inheritance and continuation. In the days to come, we will continue to practice the traditional virtues of respecting and loving the elderly with practical actions, so that more elderly people can feel the warmth and care of the society.
