On April 26, the 2024 Shenmu City Education and Sports System Cadres and Workers Games opened, which aims to further enrich the amateur cultural life of cadres and employees of the education and sports system, enhance cohesion, stimulate work enthusiasm, and empower the high-quality development of education with a good mental state and physical fitness.
Mayor Duan Zhibo attended and announced the opening of the 2024 Shenmu City Education System Cadres and Staff Games. Liu Jianping, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, delivered a speech. Li Tong, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress and chairman of the Municipal Federation of Trade Unions, and Li Shumei, vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony. Vice Mayor Jiao Yanxia presided over the opening ceremony.
In recent years, Shenmu City has always listed school sports as an important part of quality education, in-depth implementation of the Sunshine Sports Project, increasing investment in school sports infrastructure construction year by year, opening up good physical education classes, comprehensively carrying out the "one school, one characteristic" brand creation, vigorously exploring and cultivating young sports talents, and actively organizing teachers and students to participate in various high-level and high-level events. At present, it has successfully hosted sports events such as the 11th Shaanxi Provincial Middle School Games and the Yulin Youth Championship, and has successively built 29 national campus football and basketball characteristic schools and 1 national youth campus ice and snow sports characteristic school.
It is understood that the Games will last for 26 days, 103 teams and 2,145 athletes from schools in Shenmu City will compete fiercely in the four major events of track and field, basketball, table tennis and badminton, and will focus on showing the city's school sports work, teachers' sports quality and spiritual outlook.
