In the context of the new era, the protection and inheritance of the cultural heritage of the academy should thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's cultural thought, develop in the protection and use in the inheritance, organically integrate modern education, cutting-edge science and technology, creative communication and cultural heritage protection and inheritance, and effectively promote the creative transformation and innovative development of the excellent traditional Chinese culture.

Activate the cultural genes of the college with modern education

Specifically, in terms of teaching methods, traditional academies focus on the education model of learning from friends and teaching, which can provide an important reference for seminar-based teaching and small-class teaching. In terms of teaching content, the study of the subset of classics and history taught in ancient academies can be transformed into textbooks or reading books through the form of selection, compilation and annotations, etc., and enter the humanistic literacy courses that run through primary and secondary schools. In terms of scientific research, it is necessary to continue to deepen the interdisciplinary characteristics, comprehensively use the cutting-edge vision and technical methods of history, education, philosophy and other disciplines to promote the study of academies, systematically organize the historical documents of Chinese academies, deeply explore the changes and significance of the Chinese academy system, and create a academy research system with Chinese characteristics, Chinese style and Chinese style. In terms of management mode, the reform of the university college system has become a new model for the cultivation and management of general education talents in the new era. In 2018, the Ministry of Education and other six departments issued the "Opinions on the Implementation of the Training Plan for Top-notch Students in Basic Disciplines 2.0", proposing to "deeply explore the college system model, build a learning and living community, pay attention to environmental immersion and edification, strengthen the spiritual communication between teachers and students, and promote the value shaping and personality cultivation of top-notch students". Although the paths of domestic colleges and universities around the reform of the university college system have different characteristics and differences, they all pay great attention to value shaping, humanistic care and general education, which is in line with the traditional college carrying the way of learning to be enlightened and learning to become an adult, and it is in line with the times.

With the continuous development of digital technology, more and more cultural heritage of the college can be digitally preserved. According to the differences in history, region, and function, the academy should condense the cultural brand of the academy according to local conditions and time conditions, highlight the functional orientation, improve the recognition and attractiveness, and avoid the sameness and rush. Academies in areas with better economic and cultural conditions may consider holding lectures, academic seminars, special exhibitions and other activities, making full use of social media platforms, and regularly carrying out online and offline integration and interaction; In-depth excavation of famous figures, documents, and deeds in the history of the college, and creation of story-based content, presented in the form of short videos or micro-films, to improve the network influence and dissemination scope of the college culture; Develop interactive experience projects, such as AR, XR, VR and other guided tours, so that people can experience the life and academic atmosphere of the ancient academy in a virtual environment, and experience the culture of the academy in an immersive way.
