"When you accidentally fall into the water and sink, you should stay calm, close your lips, clench your teeth and hold your breath, don't struggle desperately in the water, you should raise your head, tilt your body, keep this posture, and you can slowly surface. On April 24, at the Pride Emergency Rescue Center in Baoshan District, a drowning prevention safety class was vividly carried out under the demonstration operation of the instructor. On the same day, 45 high school students from all over the city participated in the "water rescue" vocational skills practice, taking learning as a defense and building a strong sense of safety precautions.

"Once on the surface, don't lift your hands out of the water, paddle under the surface of the water so that your head stays on the surface of the water so you can breathe air. If possible, remove your shoes and heavy objects from your body, look for floating objects and hold on to them, and then look for opportunities to go ashore or wait for rescue. Instructor Zheng of the Pride Emergency Rescue Center imparted the rescue knowledge accumulated over the years to the students without reservation.

It is reported that the event was organized by the "China 100 Youth Talent Training Program" public welfare project, which kicked off the "China 100" vocational skills practice series activities. In addition to water rescue, vocational skills practice activities will be carried out on multiple themes such as science and technology, art, sports, and culture. The series of activities focuses on the characteristics and needs of teenagers' skill learning, focuses on life and practicability, enhances teenagers' social practice ability, and makes the practical results feel and understand.

This water rescue practice activity has three contents: emergency rescue science popularization, drowning prevention safety publicity and water rescue practice. Teenagers can not only understand the knowledge of water rescue and water rescue equipment in an all-round way, but also further increase their vigilance against water safety and build a strong sense of safety precautions in the water rescue simulation.

After the event, Tang from Datuan Senior High School said with deep feelings: "Water rescue requires sufficient strength, skill and professional knowledge, and the rescue simulation just now is more difficult than I expected. He also shared his notes, which recorded that if you encounter someone falling into the water, you should shout for help, call the police, and at the same time find or make a simple floating object to throw at him as soon as possible, and use appropriate tools to rescue, never jump directly into the water to rescue. After escaping, if the drowning person is wearing a coat, take it off as soon as possible to avoid the wet coat taking away the body heat and causing low temperature injuries.

"China 100" is a public welfare project under the guidance of the Shanghai Committee of the Communist Youth League, sponsored by the Shanghai Youth Activity Center, and organized and implemented by the China 100 Youth Talent Training Program Office. This year, "China 100" will enhance the sense of social responsibility of young people through a series of vocational skills practice activities, lead young people to practice the spirit of craftsmanship, and plant "seeds" for young people's academic and career development.
