How to play a historical figure Xiang Kunjin was a war criminal, and Yu Lan stayed in the scum cave Li Xuejian discovered the secret of the Shuai Mansion

author:Spring and autumn in the palm of the hand

The audience's highest evaluation of an actor is nothing more than calling him "what he acts like".

This seems like a simple sentence, but it is not easy to really do it.

Some film and television drama performance artists in New China have made great efforts to make their artistic roles famous in history, and have also left a lot of good stories and anecdotes.

Chairman ---- Kozuki

Gu Yue, who was born in the military, was formerly known as Hu Shixue. Born in Hankou, Hubei Province in 1939, he grew up in an orphanage and joined the People's Liberation Army in 1949. In 1979, he was personally circled by Ye Shuai as a special actor who played Chairman Mao. At that time, Gu Yue was an ordinary cultural cadre of the Kunming Military Region of the People's Liberation Army.

On September 9, 1976, the people's leader Mao Zedong bid farewell. Hundreds of millions of people cherish the memory of Chairman Mao and eagerly look forward to reproducing the vivid image of the old man on the screen.

In 1978, the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China and the General Political Department of the People's Liberation Army respectively issued notices to select special actors suitable for shaping the image of proletarian revolutionary leaders throughout the country. Hu Shixue is one of the more than 20 actors selected through layers of selection.

Ye Shuai once said to the leading comrades concerned on this matter: "In order to train a Lenin actor named Studgin in the Soviet Union, the state specially created an environment for him to simulate Lenin's work, study and life in those years, and provided him with all the information about Lenin. All this is to allow the actor to abandon himself and integrate with the role he plays to the greatest extent in terms of temperament, psychology and living habits, so as to achieve the best situation of artistic creation. ”

Ye Shuai said: "I don't know how we cultivate special actors. But playing Chairman Mao is not a joke, actors must read more of Chairman Mao's works, watch more relevant documentaries, extensively collect photos of Chairman Mao in various periods, check information, practice acting, study hard, and strive for perfection, so as to play a good image of a leader. ”

With the recognition of the central leadership, Gu Yue was honored to enter Bayi Film Studio in January 1980 and became a special actor in the actors' troupe.

Soon, Gu Yue made her debut in the film "Xi'an Incident" and won the audience's recognition in one fell swoop.

Subsequently, in more than a dozen films and two stage plays, Gu Yue successfully created the image of Chairman Mao Zedong from 1921 to 1965, thus entering the ranks of well-known actors in the country.

Chairman Mao Zedong played by Gu Yue can reflect the great man's broad military strategist and heroic poetic temperament. He constantly strives to figure out the essence of Chairman Mao's character, and expresses his optimism, open-mindedness, strength, foresight and extraordinary courage as much as possible, so as to make the image of Chairman Mao vivid.

Xiao Guiyun, the female director of the film "The Founding Ceremony", said: "Gu Yue's appearance is very close to Chairman Mao, and he himself works hard to learn the voice and posture of Chairman Mao when he lives and works. But we still helped him get rid of some deficiencies when we were filming. Xiao Guiyun said that initially, Gu Yue used to imitate the chairman's cross-waist and waving movements, but "it is inappropriate for a person to sit and chat with his hands on his waist." We asked Gu Yue to think more about it and told him that the character's every move is not a simple external action, but also needs to reflect the character's heart, and he did a good job later. ”

Gu Yue has always regarded playing Chairman Mao as a glorious political task, and cherishes this hard-won artistic opportunity.

In order to play and enliven the great leader loved by the people, he read and studied materials and teaching materials about Chairman Mao every day and night, and repeatedly watched Chairman Mao's precious film materials. often speculates on Chairman Mao's demeanor and movements in the middle of the night. I don't miss even a subtle expression, and I also memorize a hand movement.

He put all the various materials he collected together in an organized manner, and many walls of his home were plastered with pictures of Chairman Mao. As long as you raise your head and look down, you can see Chairman Mao's information and pictures at any time, so as to facilitate your own thinking and memory.

It is said that in order to perform one of Chairman Mao's smoking actions well, Gu Yue practiced thousands of times.

In order to adapt to Chairman Mao's body shape in different periods, Gu Yue also had to cooperate with the requirements of the program team to increase and lose weight.

During the filming of "Four Crossings of Chishui", Gu Yue's weight was 160 pounds, and Chairman Mao was still relatively thin back then, so Gu Yue lost 20 pounds in two months.

Since the release of the film "Xi'an Incident", Gu Yue's image as a leader has attracted hundreds of millions of people, and countless viewers feel that Chairman Mao seems to have really returned to the people.

Gu Yue's artistic road is booming, and he has become the most recognized actor from all walks of life to play Chairman Mao, and crews from all over the country continue to come to him to make appointments for filming.

At this time, Gu Yue did not get fluttering because of the achievements, but continued to study and explore, striving to play Chairman Mao more "like" himself.

For this reason, Gu Yue specially went to Xiangtan, Hunan Province to live for a period of time, specifically to learn Chairman Mao's speaking accent.

He also interviewed and contacted Chairman Mao's relatives, former guards and staff around him many times to understand Chairman Mao's inner world and details of life, and carefully took notes to enrich his performance foundation.

Mao Anying's wife, Liu Siqi, was also shocked by the image of Chairman Mao played by Gu Yue. Liu Siqi and Mao Anying were married for only one year, and Mao Anying died on the front line in North Korea.

In order to gain an in-depth understanding of Chairman Mao's state of mind at that time, Gu Yue decided to meet Liu Siqi in person to have a chat.

In this meeting and exchange, Liu Siqi took out more than 10 handwritten letters written to her by the chairman's father after she got married.

Liu Siqi walked up to Gu Yue and asked him to look at the letterhead.

Gu Yue hurriedly nodded in agreement, and opened each letter to read.

At the moment when she saw the beginning of each letter, Gu Yue's tears couldn't help but burst out of her eyes. Because every letter is headed by the same sentence:

"My dear daughter:"

In just one sentence, Gu Yue realized that Chairman Mao was not only a great leader of the people, but also a kind father in a family...

It is precisely because of Gu Yue's dedication to playing Chairman Mao that his works have been unanimously recognized by people.

In the past 27 years, Gu Yue has played Chairman Mao in more than 80 film and television works. is a special actor who has played Chairman Mao the most times.

He won the Best Actor Award at the 1990 and 1993 Popular Film Hundred Flowers Awards. In March 2001, Gu Yue became one of the 17 civilian generals in the army because of his outstanding artistic achievements.

As a special actor with both form and spirit, Gu Yue once said: "Playing the chairman is my lifelong task, and I will continue to act." I want to play some little-known images of the old Chairman Mao...

Unfortunately, on July 2, 2005, Gu Yue died of a sudden myocardial infarction in Sanshui City, Guangdong, and her artistic path came to an abrupt end. He was 68 years old.

How similar is Chairman Mao played by Gu Yue? Chairman Mao's daughter Li Ne's recognition of him should be the most powerful proof.

In 1990, Li Ne went to Xibaipo, Hebei Province to visit the crew of "Armageddon", and saw his father figure played by Gu Yue on the set, and he hugged Gu Yue directly and cried bitterly, and said again and again: "You are really like your father, you are too similar, my father's hands are so hard..." ”

Li Xuejian ---- play Zhang Zuolin

How to play a historical figure Xiang Kunjin was a war criminal, and Yu Lan stayed in the scum cave Li Xuejian discovered the secret of the Shuai Mansion

Li Xuejian, who is known as an excellent performing artist, belongs to the actor who "acts like anything".

The artistic images he portrayed on the stage and screen, such as Lin Biao, Song Dacheng, Jiao Yulu, Song Jiang, Yang Shanzhou, and Zhang Zuolin, all have distinct personalities and are full of vitality.

Some people say that Li Xuejian may be the actor who looks the least like the big warlord Zhang Zuolin, but acts the most like Zhang Zuolin's temperament.

Zhang Zuolin is a well-known important historical figure of the Republic of China, and is the number one warlord who was born in the green forest and served as the commander of the Beiyang Military Government.

In the TV series "Young Marshal", Li Xuejian grasped Zhang Zuolin's character traits of being bold, resourceful and visionless, and vividly interpreted the dominating Northeast King of the year.

In the play "Young Marshal", Li Xuejian is just a green leaf, but the role he plays even surpasses the protagonist "Young Marshal". Countless viewers believe that the complex and multi-faceted "old handsome" played by Li Xuejian can be called the biggest highlight of this play.

In order to play Zhang Zuolin, a hero in troubled times, Li Xuejian turned over history books, checked information, and honestly experienced life, the purpose was to act well, in order to "not score the script and not embarrass the director." ”

Before filming, Li Xuejian specially went to visit Zhang Zuolin's former marshal's mansion in Shenyang.

There, he stumbles upon a secret.

It turned out that in the backyard of the Shenyang Marshal's Mansion, there was an ancestral hall, and only Zhang Zuolin could enter it back then, and even his son Zhang Xueliang didn't know what was inside. It wasn't until Zhang Zuolin was injured and died that people opened this ancestral hall and found that Zhang Zuolin was enshrined here Guan Gong, who represents loyalty and righteousness in Chinese folk tradition.

Seeing this, Li Xuejian suddenly understood the weight of the word "loyalty" in the heart of "Zhang Dashuai".

Li Xuejian said: "Zhang Zuolin regards Guan Gong as his idol, which shows that he still attaches great importance to morality. ”

As a result, in the process of interpreting Lao Shuai in the play, Li Xuejian added a layer of righteousness in addition to Zhang Zuolin's inherent gangsterism, tyranny, and cunning as he is accustomed to understanding, making the character image more plump.

When the media interviewed Li Xuejian, he asked: Before acting in the play "Young Marshal", what kind of image was Zhang Zuolin in your heart?

Li Xuejian replied: "Because in 1989, I filmed the TV series "Li Dazhao", in which I played Li Dazhao. There is a very important plot in the play, that is, when Zhang Zuolin was the generalissimo of the Anguo Army in Beiping, he ordered Li Dazhao to be arrested from the Russian Embassy in Beiping, and later sent Li Dazhao to the gallows. At that time, I played Li Dazhao, and I hated this Zhang Zuolin. ”

Li Xuejian said that although I knew a little about Zhang Zuolin in the past, I think I still have to find a lot of information about him in order to play him, including some special topics on TV, interviews with scholars and critics about that period of history, etc., and these tasks must be done.

Li Xuejian also believes that to play historical figures, you must thoroughly understand the script and the director's thoughts and ideas about filming this drama.

He said, for example, the director of the drama "Young Marshal" Zhang Li put forward to me the five words about the connotation of Zhang Zuolin: heaven, earth, king, parent, and teacher. According to the director's five words, as an actor, it means that I have to understand the director's specific thoughts on these five words. So I want to play this historical figure, which are my strengths and which are my weaknesses must be thought about. Of course, this character is not me after all, I want to play him. Sometimes, I try to lean into this character as much as I can. There are two aspects, one inside and one outside, one god and one form.

When commenting on the role played by Zhang Zuolin, Li Xuejian said: What kind of celebrity should he be classified into?

He said that there are two categories of celebrities in the world, one is famous in history, and the other is infamous for 10,000 years. Which one do you say you want Zhang Zuolin to belong to? You put him in the stench of 10,000 years, he did not lose an inch of land when he ruled the three eastern provinces, and he knew the severity. Do you say that he has been stinking for 10,000 years, he killed Li Dazhao, he did whatever it took for personal gain, and there was a performance in the play, he couldn't be famous in history, so he was a very complex and legendary character.

During the filming of "The Young Marshal", the crew tailor-made different kinds of costumes for Li Xuejian, from dresses and robes to handsome uniforms and military uniforms, for him to choose. But he loves to wear military uniforms, and often takes the initiative to ask if this scene can be filmed in military uniforms.

In this regard, Li Xuejian said that he and Zhang Zuolin are both small men, and how to perform Zhang Zuolin's domineering is a big test. Before, I had seen Zhang Zuolin's clay statue in casual clothes, and I felt like a fortune teller, and my sense of domineering was insufficient, so I decisively reduced my casual clothes appearance.

In terms of grasping the role, Li Xuejian has a unique understanding of Zhang Zuolin, who is extremely tactful and good at opportunistic among various forces, but does not lose his principles.

He said that Zhang Zuolin is extremely complicated, and he does not belong to the group that has been left in history, nor does it belong to the group that has been stinking for thousands of years, and it is difficult to characterize his good or bad, which is extremely controversial. In the face of such a role, although it is difficult to play, it is very enjoyable.

In the performance, Li Xuejian used language treatment with traces of northern dialects, highlighting the characteristics of Zhang Zuolin's folk origin. The so-called power game in the temple has been turned into a contradiction in the urban and rural tiles.

Whether it is a lecture standing on the podium or the head of the family at the dinner table, Li Xuejian has a very accurate grasp of the details and demeanor.

In addition to language and expressions, Li Xuejian also attaches great importance to the control of rhythm in terms of body movement design.

He takes the small man as one of the characteristics of Zhang Zuolin's character, draws on the performance elements of the drama stage, and strives to create a spiritual temperament that can still be "subordinate" and "small".

Every time he appears and walks in the play, he has a unique gait, swinging arms, and head design, which complement the audio-visual language and show the inner world of a generation of heroes.

In the play "Young Marshal", Zhang Zuolin has a line that is often on his lips: "What are rivers and lakes? ”

This is Zhang Zuolin's philosophy of life shown in the play, and it is also the focus of Li Xuejian's portrayal of Zhang Zuolin.

He explained, "In those days, the warlords were fighting, the whole country was in chaos, and the whole society seemed to be a big river, and some means had to be used to survive. And Zhang Zuolin's way of survival is a very representative specimen of that era. ”

Therefore, Zhang Zuolin, played by Li Xuejian, has a completely different way of behaving in the face of Shuaifu's relatives, former brothers, representatives of Japan and Russia, and political opponents, witty, cunning, ruthless, and warm.

Yu Lan ----- play Sister Jiang

How to play a historical figure Xiang Kunjin was a war criminal, and Yu Lan stayed in the scum cave Li Xuejian discovered the secret of the Shuai Mansion

Yu Lan, formerly known as Yu Peiwen, was born in Xiuyan County, Liaoning Province in June 1921. In October 1938, 17-year-old Yu Lan crossed the blockade line from Beiping to Yan'an, the holy land of the revolution, and studied at Yan'an Anti-Japanese Military and Political University and Yan'an Women's University. In 1940, he was transferred to the Experimental Troupe of Yan'an Lu Xun Art Institute as an actor.

Yu Lan has created many dazzling heroic images on the new Chinese screen. In 2009, she won the Lifetime Honor Award of the "Chinese Film Golden Rooster Award", and in 2019, she was awarded the title of "The Most Beautiful Struggler" of the Republic.

When Yu Lan's name is mentioned, the audience and fans immediately think of Sister Jiang.

Sister Jiang is a famous heroine in the red classic artwork of New China. For decades, there have been dozens of actors who have played Sister Jiang on the stage and screen, but the only one known as "Sister Jiang forever" may be Yu Lan.

In the winter of 1961, Yu Lan was hospitalized due to illness. I happened to read the novel "Red Rock" serialized in "China Youth Daily", and I was deeply moved by the story of Sister Jiang in the work. She said, "This is the real Communist, and I have seen many such people in Yan'an."

In those days, although she was sick, she often excitedly told Sister Jiang's story to her patients.

In 1965, Yu Lan ushered in the pinnacle of his film career, "Eternal Life in the Fire".

After learning that she would play the role of Sister Jiang, Xia Yan, a senior in the literary and art circles, specially advised: "Sister Jiang has her own characteristics, if you play Sister Jiang, don't play Liu Hulan, and don't play Zhao Yiman." ”

These words inspired Lan a lot, and he understood that he couldn't perform stylized performances as soon as he mentioned heroines.

Yu Lan really lived up to expectations. In the film, she used her exquisite and delicate performance to create a flesh-and-blood, vivid and vivid image of Sister Jiang.

When Yu Lan talked about his favorite personal screen role in his later years, he once said emotionally: "I admire Sister Jiang. If it takes sacrifice, I can do it, because I am also a member of the Communist Party"; She and I share the same experiences and ideals. ”

Recalling her experience of creating the role of Sister Jiang, Yu Lan said, "I am willing to play this role because her face does not change and her heart does not beat, and I am shocked by her selfless and dedicated to her ideals." Show her behavior, her personality, and the whole to the masses of the people, let the masses of the people remember them, and always remember that this is the real elite of our nation, the pioneer of our nation, and the hero of the nation, so that the people will know about it. ”

When Yu Lan accepted the role of Sister Jiang, she also worked part-time as the assistant director of the crew. In the spring of 1962, she and director Shui Hua and others went to Beidaihe, Chongqing, Chengdu, Guizhou and other places to interview, and had several discussions and exchanges with Luo Guangbin, Yang Yiyan and Liu Debin, the authors of the novel "Red Rock", and personally sorted out 200,000 words of experience notes.

During that time, Yu Lan's research on the role of "Sister Jiang" was almost obsessed.

Through repeated study of materials, she looked for the differences between Sister Jiang and revolutionary martyrs such as Liu Hulan and Zhao Yiman, and deeply thought about the uniqueness of Sister Jiang's character.

Yu Lan realized that Sister Jiang "is mature, calm, and methodical." Whether it is in the face of the frantic pursuit of spies or the torture, they all show the rationality and elegance of Chinese intellectual women, as well as the calmness and calmness of an underground worker. ”

In order to experience life and find the true feelings of the characters, Yu Lan and some comrades in the crew lived in Chongqing for more than three months, and she herself stayed in the cell of the Dregs Cave Prison for more than a week.

For more than a week, she arranged her life completely according to the schedule of the revolutionary martyrs before her death, except for a short break in the morning, the rest of the time she lived in a cold and damp prison cell, and ate porridge and pickles.

It is precisely because of such a profound experience that Yu Lan has a deeper understanding of Sister Jiang's character.

Since then, Yu Lan has repeatedly considered, practiced, and rehearsed every appearance of the role and every scene shooting, and finally succeeded in shaping the glorious image of Sister Jiang.

Decades have passed, and the image of Sister Jiang in the film has been loved by generations of audiences. As an actor, Yu Lan believes that this is the highest reward and the best honor.

Xiang Kun ----- played Commander Zhang

How to play a historical figure Xiang Kunjin was a war criminal, and Yu Lan stayed in the scum cave Li Xuejian discovered the secret of the Shuai Mansion

Xiang Kun, formerly known as Wang Xiangkun, was born in Wuqiao, Hebei Province in 1915 and was originally from Dezhou, Shandong.

Xiang Kun in his youth, with good facial features and sharp edges and corners, belongs to the standard handsome guys, and is different from the famous actors Chen Qiang, Ge Cunzhuang, Liu Jiang, Fang Hua, and Shu Shu, who are good at playing villains in the same era.

If actor Fang Hua is a professional household playing devils, Xiang Kun belongs to a professional household playing a Kuomintang general. The image of the Kuomintang reactionary officer he created on the screen seems to be unmatched.

In the past 70 years, Xiang Kun has worked hard and practiced diligently, and has created many vivid artistic images with different personalities in different works in various historical periods.

The audience is most familiar with the role he plays, and there is no one more than Commander Zhang in the old movie "Southern Expedition and Northern War".

"Southern Expedition and Northern War" is the first military-themed feature film filmed after the founding of New China. Xiang Kun, who has a dignified appearance, got the role of the No. 1 villain of the Kuomintang's Commander Zhang in the film.

Xiang Kun, who was 36 years old at the time, did not shirk and happily accepted the task.

In order to play this character well, experiencing life is an important part.

After obtaining permission from the relevant departments, Xiang Kun immediately went home to pack his bags, and together with his partner Bai Mu, who played the chief of staff of the enemy in the film, he went to a war criminal shelter set up by our party in Shandong at that time, lived with some of the Kuomintang generals and officers who were detained, and listened to them explain the war scenes of that year.

In those days, Xiang Kun often locked himself in a small room, reading the script and studying the role, while using a brush to write down notes on his experience of contacting the war criminals in custody, carefully scrutinizing the characters, and repeatedly pondering every inner activity and external action.

Xiang Kun's daughter, Wang Huili, once recalled, "My father wore the same clothes as prisoners of war, studied and lived with the captured senior Kuomintang generals, and none of the prisoners of war realized that their father was not a Kuomintang prisoner of war..."

It is said that during this period, Xiang Kun also participated in the interrogation of war criminal Wang Yaowu, and asked a few questions to the Kuomintang lieutenant general commander in person, carefully observing Wang Yaowu's real reaction, so as to enrich the connotation of his performance.

After returning from the experience of life, Zhang Junchang played by Xiang Kun really had a sense of reality.

In order to accurately reproduce the complex inner activities of Commander Zhang on the battlefield, during the filming, Xiang Kun carefully scrutinized the character's words and deeds and his psychological activities according to the script to find the personality of the character.

Xiang Kun vividly defined Commander Zhang as a "big wolf dog" with shiny fur and vicious. According to this, when shooting, Zhang Junchang showed that he was tall and unsmiling, which made people feel that there was indeed a majestic characteristic of a wolf dog.

Through words, movements, and expressions, he vividly portrayed Commander Zhang's demeanor from being arrogant and arrogant, to being depressed and anxious after being frustrated, to planning to flee, and finally holding a stinky shelf after complete defeat.

How to play a historical figure Xiang Kunjin was a war criminal, and Yu Lan stayed in the scum cave Li Xuejian discovered the secret of the Shuai Mansion

Director Cheng Yin later recalled: "Xiang Kun was a formalist performance actor before 1952, and it was the 'Commander Zhang' in "Southern Expedition and Northern War" who broke him back and became an experiential actor!"

Looking back on the filming of "Southern Expedition and Northern War", Xiang Kun also had a lot of feelings, and he was very grateful to director Cheng Yin for his help and guidance. He said: "To be honest, if it hadn't been for Director Chengyin in 1952, I am afraid that my performance would not have been successful in the following years, and I don't know if I would have been able to act." ”

The insidious and brutal spy leader Xu Pengfei in the film "Eternal Life in the Fire" is also Xiang Kun's famous image left on the screen.

Yu Lan, a performance artist who played with him, remembered that when he cooperated with Xiang Kun to shoot "Eternal Life in the Fire", Xiang Kun always frowned coldly on himself, both in and out of the play.

Yu Lan said, "I wondered very much at the time: why does this person have such an attitude? Later, I learned that he completely brought himself into the role and treated me in life as Sister Jiang in the movie." ”

In the film, Xu Pengfei played by Xiang Kun faces the unyielding Sister Jiang, and his donkey skills are poor. One moment to unbutton, one moment to drink water, one moment to wipe the sweat with a towel, the anxious state of mind of the dying spy leader is just right.

During the filming, Xiang Kun also agreed to pick up the flaws and deficiencies in the performance with Zhao Dan, who was filming the opposite scene, and jointly dedicated a pinnacle of art to the audience.

Zhang Ruifang ---- plays Li Shuangshuang

How to play a historical figure Xiang Kunjin was a war criminal, and Yu Lan stayed in the scum cave Li Xuejian discovered the secret of the Shuai Mansion

Zhang Ruifang, a drama and film performance artist, was born in Baoding, Hebei Province in 1918. She studied at Beiping Municipal No. 1 Girls' High School and began to learn and perform drama. After the December 9 Movement in 1935, he began to participate in revolutionary work. In 1962, at the beginning of the founding of the People's Republic of China, she was awarded the title of "New Chinese Folk Actor" by the Ministry of Culture, that is, the title of 22 major movie stars.

In 1993, Zhang Ruifang won the Special Honor Award of the 4th China Film Performing Arts Society. Since then, he has successively won the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 9th Golden Phoenix Award of the China Film Performing Arts Society, the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 10th Shanghai International Film Festival Chinese Film, and the Lifetime Achievement Award of the 26th China Film Golden Rooster Award.

In 1952, Zhang Ruifang participated in the filming of the film "Southern Expedition and Northern War", playing the role of Zhao Yumin, the female village chief. She came to rural Shandong from the metropolis of Shanghai, in order to play a good role, she carried a real pony pistol, ate and lived in ordinary people's homes, experienced life for seven or eight months, and practiced military actions such as walking, talking, crawling forward, and throwing grenades, which were later shown in the film.

In 1958, the writer Li Zhun took Liu Fengxian, the women's captain of the Songjiazhuang Brigade in Linxian County, Henan Province, as the prototype and created the novel "The Biography of Li Shuangshuang". After the work was published, it quickly aroused great repercussions among readers.

After "Li Shuangshuang's Biography" was published in "People's Literature", the bold and pungent protagonist "Li Shuangshuang", who "has a refreshing energy that dares to speak and laugh", left a deep impression on many readers.

Lu Ren, director of Shanghai Haiyan Film Studio, was overjoyed after reading the novel, and he called the writer Li Zhun and asked him to adapt the novel into a script as soon as possible, and decided to put it on the screen.

The choreographer and director selected Zhang Ruifang to play the protagonist "Li Shuangshuang" in the movie.

In order to accurately interpret the image of this rural female builder of New China, Zhang Ruifang deliberately came to the rural area of Linxian County, Henan Province to experience life before shooting.

One day in the spring of 1960, the director of the Women's Federation of the Commune led Zhang Ruifang to the house of Liu Fengxian, the real prototype of Li Shuangshuang, and arranged for her to live there.

At this time, Zhang Ruifang was already a well-known actress in the country, and many of the characters she created were deeply loved by the audience.

This time, Zhang Ruifang played "Li Shuangshuang" in the film, and Zhong Xinghuo played her husband "Sun Xiwang".

Coming to Henan to experience life is a little different from the past, and being arranged to get along with the characters in the movie is the first time for Zhang Ruifang.

During the day, Zhang Ruifang and Liu Fengxian went to participate in agricultural labor, learning how to hoe, water, fertilize, and sow seeds. In getting along day and night, the two formed a deep sisterly friendship.

After more than a year of life experience, Zhang Ruifang's palms have worn out calluses, and her face has turned black, looking no different from an authentic rural woman.

What's more, this experience made Zhang Ruifang familiar with rural life and truly experienced the rich content of the character "Li Shuangshuang", which laid a solid foundation for her to accurately grasp and interpret the characteristics of the character in the film.

In the summer of 1961, a shooting team of more than 80 people drove into the beautiful location of Songjiazhuang in Linxian County, which caused a sensation in the county at that time, and many people rushed to open their eyes and see the excitement.

Back then, there was one of the best houses in the village, which became the home of "Li Shuangshuang" and "Sun Xiwang" in the movie.

Liu Fengxian, the prototype of the character, also participated in the filming of the movie. Her role on the set was to manage the crew's props. During the day, she ran back and forth with the crew, and at night, she had to make the pointed cloth-soled shoes worn by the rural people at that time for the actors.

The pointy shoes worn by Zhang Ruifang in the film were actually made by her.

The real archetypal character watches another person play himself every day, which has made a good story in the history of Chinese cinema.

Three months later, after the filming of the movie was completed, Zhang Ruifang and Liu Fengxian said goodbye with tears and gave the rural sister a black background red flower cloth pocket as a souvenir.

In 1962, after the release of "Li Shuangshuang", it caused quite a stir and soon became a well-known classic film.

In the memory of Liu Fengxian, the prototype of Li Shuangshuang, she and her fellow villagers only saw it once. In order to thank the Linxian County Party Committee and Songjiazhuang for their strong support, Shanghai Haiyan Studio specially sent people from Shanghai to Songjiazhuang to screen it for the villagers.

The screening was unprecedented, not only attracting more than 10,000 villagers around Songjiazhuang, but also the masses from Neihuang, Tangyin and other places.

For a while, Liu Fengxian also became a celebrity, and there was an endless stream of people who came to visit her.

In the selection of the 2nd Popular Film Hundred Flowers Award, Zhang Ruifang also won the "Best Actress Award" for this film

After Zhang Ruifang and the prototype Liu Fengxian separated in 1961, the sisters were separated from each other, but the two "Li Shuangshuang" Hongyan had a love affair, and their friendship was undiminished. The deep friendship has not been sealed by the years.

On December 15, 2006, the CCTV movie channel "Golden Years" column team revisited Songjiazhuang for filming, and they invited Liu Fengxian to Shanghai to meet Zhang Ruifang.

On the night of December 17, Liu Fengxian, who lived in the hotel, couldn't sleep for a long time. She was thinking, "What does Sister Zhang, who has been worried about for 46 years, look like now, and can she still recognize herself?"

On the morning of the next day, at the scene of the program, after the host introduced the main creators of the film "Li Shuangshuang" who came to the scene, he began to broadcast an interview with Liu Fengxian in Linzhou.

Liu Fengxian said on the screen: "After so many years, I miss Sister Zhang very much, if it was in Anyang and Zhengzhou, I would have gone to see her earlier." Shanghai is so far away that you can't see it if you want to. ”

The host asked Zhang Ruifang, who was present, "Do you want to see her now?" Zhang Ruifang said, "Yes." ”

At this time, Liu Fengxian really came out from behind the scenes. Zhang Ruifang was stunned for a moment, she stood up from her seat tremblingly, walked a few steps and hugged Liu Fengxian tightly and cried.
