China Business Intelligence Network News: In recent years, the overall output of optoelectronic devices in China has fluctuated greatly. According to the "2024-2029 China Optoelectronic Device Industry Development Analysis and Investment Prospect Forecast Report" released by the China Business Industry Research Institute, China's optoelectronic component output will reach 1,438.05 billion in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 33.11%. From January to March 2024, the output reached 396.58 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.6%.

Optoelectronic devices can be divided into two categories: active optical devices and passive optical devices according to whether they need external energy to work. According to the "2024-2029 China Optoelectronic Device Industry Development Analysis and Investment Prospect Forecast Report" released by the China Business Industry Research Institute, active optical devices account for 83%, mainly used for photoelectric conversion or optical signal processing, including lasers, optical detectors, optical amplifiers, optical switches, optical modulators, optical display devices, etc., and passive optical devices account for a relatively small proportion, about 17%, including optical fiber connectors, couplers, wavelength division multiplexers, optical isolators, optical attenuators, optical splitters, optical filters, etc.

In the past five years, the number of registrations of China's optoelectronic device-related enterprises has generally shown a trend of rapid growth. From 2019 to 2023, the number of registered optoelectronic device-related enterprises in mainland China will increase from 12,700 to 92,300, with an average annual compound growth rate of 64.2%. From the perspective of the total number of enterprises, the number of existing optoelectronic device enterprises in the mainland has reached 339,000.
