The drizzle in the early morning, the air is fresh, and as the first rays of the morning sun penetrate the light rain, the beach clearing activity slowly kicks off. Before the official start of the event, the team leader led the volunteers to stretch and warm up to ensure the safety of the volunteers during the event. A total of 70 volunteers participated in the beach clearance.
During the activity, the volunteers were divided into different groups, armed with picking tools and garbage bags, and walked along the river beach to pick up garbage, leaving no trace of garbage hidden in the grass. On the nearly 5-kilometer river beach, they cleaned up about 300 catties of various types of plastic waste that are not easy to degrade, most of which are common products in daily life, such as plastic bags and plastic bottles. In addition to cleaning up the garbage, they also distributed publicity materials to residents around the river beach to popularize environmental protection knowledge and raise public awareness of environmental protection.
The volunteers who came to participate in the event sighed: "Now with the gradual increase of people's awareness of environmental protection, the ecological environment is getting better and better, and I hope that the next time we carry out the activity, we can pick up less garbage so that we can return empty-handed!"
In this activity, the volunteers interpreted the spirit of dedication, friendship, mutual assistance and progress with practical actions, which not only improved the environmental awareness of residents, but also made contributions to the protection of freshwater resources and rare fish in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, showing a high sense of social responsibility and mission, and contributing to the construction of a better home.
