In recent years, the recruits who have enlisted in the army are all "post-00s". Some people say that the "post-00s" have a flamboyant personality and lack a sense of responsibility...... But as a soldier leader, only if we take off the "colored glasses" and put ourselves in their shoes and think about their growth background, we will have another understanding. In practice, I know that there is no soldier who is born deficient, as long as he is correctly guided, every "post-00" recruit can become excellent.
Educational edification, replenish the spiritual calcium
The "post-00s" generation is a generation of netizens, and the Internet has allowed them to see a wider world and given them more diverse values. However, ideas such as "mixing for two years and going back to upgrade to a higher education" and "experiencing two years to save experience" still exist. If you want to become a person, you must first set up your will and cast your soul, and doing a good job in the "source project" is of great significance for cultivating revolutionary soldiers in the new era of the "four haves". Every time a recruit leaves the company, the squadron will organize the recruits to visit the honor room, touch the pennant, award certificate and squadron "heirloom", tell them the story behind the honor, and guide them to understand the genetic code of the "four irons".
Last year, Huang Shuncai, a "post-00s" recruit, wrote bluntly in the motivation column for enlistment: "I don't want to make any achievements, I want to go back to the exam for two years to upgrade without examination." I didn't talk to him directly, but held a "strong army story meeting" to tell the glorious tradition of the squadron, so that the veterans could tell about their bravery and wisdom in the mission, and use this brave and fearless spirit to edify the "post-00s" present. That night, Huang Shuncai took the initiative to find me, and he said that he wanted to be a real "defender of northern Fujian".
In addition, the squadron also held activities such as a lecture hall for recruits and a "full moon" ideological interview meeting for recruits to encourage recruits to speak on stage, so that recruits can strengthen their ideological foundation and strengthen their belief in strengthening the army through study and exchange.
Build a stage to help grow and become a talent
When facing the "post-00s" recruits, it is difficult for many troop leaders to stimulate their enthusiasm and motivation. However, after a period of contact, I have found an experience: if you can fully explore the strengths and interests of recruits, you can greatly mobilize their enthusiasm, initiative and creativity.
Xie Xuru, a recruit who enlisted in the army last year, is not outstanding in physical fitness, but his talent for painting has to be given a thumbs up. Therefore, I tried to start with the daily work of the squadron, and arranged for him to be responsible for drawing the squadron's cultural walls, propaganda boards, etc., so that he could combine his interests and hobbies with his work. In this way, he can not only give full play to his strengths, but also continuously improve his ability and level in practice.
But as time passed, Xie Xuru gradually realized his physical shortcomings. We "tailored" a set of training programs for him, one five-kilometer daily to strengthen his heart and lungs, and in the afternoon he did equipment training, followed by strength training to improve his muscular endurance.
After a period of hard training, Xie Xuru's physical fitness level has been significantly improved. Today, his physical fitness is among the best and has become a banner in the squadron.
Satisfy curiosity and set up the right direction
"Why do we do high equipment exercises?" Why pinch the quilt?" ...... In the face of the questions raised by the "post-00" recruits, the squad leaders were able to answer them seriously at first, but after a long time and many times, and there were indeed no standard answers to some questions, the squad leaders were also a little impatient. Li Chunhui, a recruit who joined the army last year, came to me three times in less than a month, and asked "why" every time. So I took advantage of his curiosity and asked him to regularly collect the common doubts of recruits, and study and solve them with the squadron leader and the backbone. At the same time, the squadron also took advantage of opportunities such as education to organize debates among recruits and veterans, and guided recruits to think for themselves and cultivate their ability to solve problems independently through the form of "you ask me and I answer".
Interestingly, when organizing an obstacle course for recruits, Li Chunhui asked me again about the principle of these obstacles. I organized the recruits to sit in a circle, and asked several squad leaders to take turns to explain, each obstacle simulates what kind of situation may appear on the battlefield in the future, and the specified postures are to adapt to the requirements of the battlefield. The reason is clear, and the enthusiasm for the training of the recruits is even higher. In last year's year-end assessment, more than half of the "post-00" recruits ranked in the forefront of the squadron, and the comprehensive results of the squadron were also among the best in the whole detachment.
As a new generation, the "post-00s" are the "strong generation" and the "strong army generation". They have ideals and dreams, but some of them have the characteristics of strong self-awareness and weak sense of discipline. As long as we respect their characteristics, give full play to their strengths, and deal with them with tolerance and sincerity, we will be able to correct deviations and promote their strengths and bring out capable soldiers in the new era.
