Bank of China released a co-branded hard wallet for transportation card digital yuan

On April 14, during the 4th China International Consumer Products Expo, Bank of China held a press conference on the interconnection and integration of digital yuan and transportation card, and released the "Bank of China-Transportation Card" digital currency-themed hardware wallet on the spot, which was attended by relevant leaders of Hainan Provincial Government, Bank of China, China Transportation Communication Information Center and other relevant leaders.

It is reported that the hard wallet is the first innovative application product that meets the specifications of digital currency and transportation interconnection, with the characteristics of national traffic capacity, multi-scenario application and no network and no electricity technology, etc., and can also support overseas people to apply for it, whether it is taking public transportation or daily small payments, it can be easily dealt with, and it can be paid at one touch.

Meizhou: In the first half of the year, we will strive to achieve that all county-level financial budget units will use digital yuan to pay salaries

Recently, the Meizhou Branch of the People's Bank of China and the Meizhou Municipal Bureau of Finance jointly issued the "Notice on Promoting the Comprehensive Development of Digital RMB Wage Payment at the County Level", proposing to continue to give full play to the demonstration and leading role of party and government organs and institutions in the pilot work of digital RMB, and strive to realize that all county-level financial budget units use digital RMB to pay wages by the end of June.

Previously, Meizhou took the lead in launching a pilot project for the unified payment of wages in digital yuan in the province, and quickly replicated the successful experience after the smooth payment, and fully rolled out the unified payment of wages in digital yuan in 293 municipal budget units in the city in September 2023.

Fuzhou realizes the payment of taxes and fees in all scenarios of digital yuan

Recently, the reporter learned from the Municipal Taxation Bureau that since the pilot use of digital yuan in Fuzhou in March 2022, the Fuzhou Municipal Tax Department has taken the initiative to continuously expand the application scenarios of digital yuan and realize the full scenario of digital yuan tax payment.

"Last year, a total of 24.45 billion yuan of taxes and fees were paid in digital yuan. The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Taxation Bureau said that Fuzhou Taxation actively promotes intelligent services and accelerates the construction of a "digital currency + tax" dual system, and the "digital union" tax payment model is one of the innovative measures. In order to get through the blockages and pain points in the payment of taxes and fees for e-RMB, the Municipal Taxation Bureau, under the guidance of the Provincial Taxation Bureau, initiated the "Digital Union" model with reference to "UnionPay", and jointly explored the establishment of a new mechanism of "multiple access and unified clearing" for e-RMB.

Suzhou landed the digital yuan SIM hard wallet "smart lock" payment application

Recently, China Mobile Suzhou has launched the Group's first new application of "smart locking" payment with the Group's digital RMB SIM hard wallet in Suzhou Rail Transit, and supports cross-institutional settlement between multiple digital RMB operating units.

"Smart locking" is a personalized payment technology, which can facilitate users to lock the payment amount in advance, deduct the actual consumption amount when swiping the mobile phone, and settle in the state of no network and no electricity. The new function of the SIM hard wallet also includes cross-settlement between e-CNY operating institutions, that is, receiving and paying can be carried out between different financial institutions, breaking through the previous restriction that the collection and payment must be the same financial institution. In order to expand the application scope of SIM hard wallets, China Mobile Suzhou, Jiangsu Mobile Product Operation Center, China Mobile Financial Technology, and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China established a joint project team to carry out in-depth R&D and testing work under the guidance of the latest standards of the Digital RMB Research Institute of the People's Bank of China. At present, all stations of the 6 subway lines that have been opened in Suzhou support e-CNY SIM hard wallet payment without network and electricity, and the ticket can be automatically transferred from the payment end of ICBC to the settlement end of Bank of China, without the need for inter-bank settlement through the backend.
