With curiosity, on the morning of April 19, I found Huang Juan and the relevant personnel of the "Medical Village Official" project and asked what was going on.
Huang Juan is the head of the Public Health Management Section and deputy chief nurse of the Zhuantang Community Health Service Center in Xihu District, and a deputy to the 16th People's Congress of Xihu District.
"Medical village officials" refer to those who have health professional and technical skills to serve as "medical village cadres" of the village community, and participate in various health-related activities of the village community in various forms.
Huang Juan explained that this concept was collectively customized by relevant personnel such as the Xihu District Health Bureau, Zhuantang Street, Zhuantang Community Health Service Center, and Waitongwu Village, and received inspiration from the "art village chief".

Huang Juan said that the "medical village officer" project originated from a proposal she made as a deputy to the National People's Congress.
On March 2 this year, Zhuantang Street held a meeting of residents of the National People's Congress, and Huang Juan, a representative of the People's Congress of Xihu District, met Zhang Xiulong, a representative of the Zhejiang Provincial People's Congress, Secretary of the General Party Branch and Director of the Village Committee of Waitongwu Village. Regarding medical protection and people's livelihood, the two hit it off and made a proposal, which was immediately affirmed and supported by many people.
As early as the beginning of the year, Huang Juan reported the idea of "medical village official" to the leaders of the center. Yang Kai, deputy director of the Zhuantang Community Health Service Center, recalled the scene at that time, "The feeling of brightness in front of my eyes was very novel. He immediately reported to Guo Shizhi, director of the center.
Guo Shizhi held a meeting to mobilize manpower and material resources and concentrate on running the "Medical Village Official" project.
He said that the "medical village officials" and the medical staff of the center have always met the requirements of going deep into the village, moving the port forward, and sending doctors to their homes. He demanded that the "medical village officials" should not only have "face" but also "lining", and the new form should have new content.
Inviting "medical village officials" is a realistic demand for Waitongwu

Talking about seeing a doctor in the past, Zhang Xiulong mentioned the "barefoot doctor".
In the sixties and seventies of the last century, medical families or self-taught trainees with short-term training in the medical profession were called "barefoot doctors" when they were busy farming in the countryside, practicing medicine during the slack time, or farming during the day and sending medicine to the hospital at night.
Zhang Xiulong said that the "medical village official" is an innovation in the new era and an upgrade of the continuous improvement of the rural medical system. "Xiao Huang used to be the resident doctor in the village, and she has a good mass base, so I am very optimistic about her. ”
What is the "medical village officer" going to do?
Waitongwu Village and Huang Juan signed the "Letter of Responsibility for Medical Village Officials", which contains clear responsibilities and assessment methods.
There are four main things that the "medical village officer" does:
The first is to participate in health-related meetings of the village community. Participate in various health-related activities of the village community in various forms;
The second is to organize the center's general internal medicine and/or contracted doctors, surgery, acupuncture and massage, rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine, etc. to set up a medical service team, and cooperate with municipal experts to regularly enter the village community to carry out free clinics, health lectures and other activities;
The third is to give priority to the provincial, municipal, and district-level free screening projects and/or free vaccines for the elderly;
