On April 20, the 2024 Chongqing Yunyang "Li Xuerui Cup" Badminton Mixed Team Competition officially kicked off, attracting more than 200 badminton enthusiasts to participate, who will compete for two days from April 20 to 21.

The event was hosted by the Yunyang County Culture and Tourism Development Committee, and co-organized by the Yunyang County Sports Association, Chongqing Dadukou District Li Xuerui Youth Sports Club, and the Yunyang County Badminton Association. The competition has set up two age groups, youth group and middle-aged group, to meet the needs of different age groups and increase the radiation surface of the competition.
Since its inception in 2013, the "Li Xuerui Cup" has become one of the most influential and highest-level amateur badminton events in southwest China, and won the title of "Sichuan-Chongqing Sports Tourism Boutique Event" in 2023. At last year's "birthday ceremony", Chongqing badminton Olympic champion Li Xuerui expressed her hope that the event could be extended to more districts and counties in her hometown for sub-station competitions, so that more people could participate in this event.

On the same day, Li Xuerui came to the scene in person, and after participating in the kick-off ceremony, she showed a wonderful shot for everyone on the spot, which won bursts of applause from the audience. In an interview, Li Xuerui said: "Yunyang has rich cultural and tourism resources, and through the combination of events and tourism, it can provide a unique competition and travel experience for badminton enthusiasts. ”
The holding of this event has also been supported by relevant sports institutions, attracting many spectators from inside and outside the county to watch the game, which will help give full play to the power of "sports +" and promote the development of Yunyang tourism and other service industries. As one contestant from Yuzhong District said, "Why not play with your teammates and experience the customs and food of Yunyang by the way?"
