April is a good time to read. In order to welcome the 29th World Book Day, advocate reading for all people, and create a good reading atmosphere, this afternoon (April 20), Guiyang Children's Library held the 2023 "Reading Star" award ceremony and "Guizhou Edition Good Books" reading sharing activity.
At the award ceremony, the Guiyang Children's Library awarded the honorary title of "Reading Star" to the top 10 children's readers according to the ranking of the number of books borrowed by licensed children's readers in 2023, encouraging the "Reading Star" to persevere and carry forward the good reading habits of loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading. Subsequently, the "Reading Stars" took the stage to share their favorite books and the joy of reading.
"I like to read storybooks and magazines, and I can learn a lot of knowledge and understand a lot of truths. Guiyang Children's Library's 2023 "Reading Star" Luo Mingxi said.
"I usually bring my children to the library every week, and I also actively participate in a variety of reading activities in the library, which can not only cultivate children's interest in reading, but also exercise children's reading and expression skills. Ren Yi, a parent of "Reading Star", told reporters.
After the award ceremony, the "Guizhou Edition of Good Books" reading and sharing activity was also held, in which Chen Min, editor of Guizhou Education Publishing House, shared the children's "Guizhou Edition of Good Books" "Daohua Fish", telling readers the stories behind the creation, interpreting the folk culture and intangible cultural heritage skills in the picture books, and conveying the concept of symbiosis and co-prosperity between man and nature.
This event is one of the "4.23" World Book Day series of reading promotion activities held by Guiyang Children's Library, which will attract children and parents to experience the fancy "joy" reading of "outside the library + inside the library" and "online + offline" by holding rich and interesting reading activities such as "reading + handicraft", all-English story meeting, market stalls, "sweeping" and "entering" AR activities, and love book donations. It is understood that the offline activities of World Book Day will end on April 21, and the online theme activities will continue until May 6.
On the occasion of World Book Day, Guiyang Children's Library has given full play to its role as a national reading base and launched a total of 21 colorful reading activities to attract more young readers to the library, so that they can love reading, like reading, and get used to reading, and further create a reading atmosphere of loving reading, reading good books, and being good at reading, and promote the development of national reading work.
