On April 20, 2024, Dai Xuefeng, a member of the expert group of the Resource Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Wu Dongfan, director of the Cultural Tourism Research Center of the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, went to Xixialing to investigate and guide the creation of a national 5A-level tourist attraction. Chairman Zhang Shuai and other leaders participated in the accompaniment.
The research team successively went to the tourist center, museum and heritage area of the scenic spot to learn more about the creation of a national 5A-level tourist attraction in Xixia Mausoleum through on-the-spot inspections and listening to explanations.
The research team pointed out that the first is to strictly control the standards and assessment rules of 5A-level tourist attractions, continuously improve the software and hardware service facilities of scenic spots, enrich the tourism industry, innovate cultural and creative products and tourism projects, and enhance the experience of tourists. The second is to learn from the experience of creating other 5A scenic spots, find out the gaps and shortcomings through learning and comparison, and further improve the quality of scenic spots. Third, it is necessary to dig deep into the historical and cultural resources of Xixia, strengthen communication with relevant experts inside and outside the region, and establish smooth communication channels.
The research team emphasized that as a historical cultural site, the Xixia Mausoleum should be reasonably repaired and protected on the basis of protecting the original appearance, so that tourists can feel the vicissitudes of history in an immersive way. At the same time, strengthen the construction of tourism facilities, further improve the quality of service, enhance service awareness, and create high-quality products and characteristics.
In the next step, the Xixia Mausoleum Scenic Area will conscientiously carry out rectification and improvement in accordance with the opinions and suggestions of the experts, and strive to apply and pass the acceptance as soon as possible.
