On April 20, the Spring Balcony located in Longtou Village, Tanbu Town, Huadu District, Guangzhou City ushered in the first anniversary celebration. As an important part of the Longtou Rural Revitalization Project, the Spring Balcony launched a series of cultural and folk activities in the rainy season to promote the inheritance and development of the local culture of Longtou.

According to reports, the spring balcony was designed by architect Zhang Yonghe, located at the entrance of Longtou Village, with a total area of 8,602 square meters, and will be officially opened to the public on April 20, 2023. The Spring Balcony integrates a variety of spaces such as the Cultural Museum Exhibition Hall, the Library Building, the Rare Book Room, the Reading Room, the Theater and the Art Fair Revitalization, providing a new place for multicultural activities in the ancient village on the basis of fully respecting local culture.
Coinciding with the season of Guyu, this year's Spring Balcony held a one-year anniversary celebration and launched activities such as the performance of the Sun Shines Children's Choir, the reading and sharing session of "Yan Shiji" and the Guyu Broadway Banquet, so as to promote the unique charm of local culture and show the infinite possibilities of new countryside and new farming and reading life.
Among them, the children of the Sun Shines Children's Choir are all from Tanbu Town, where Long Tou Ancient Village is located, and this anniversary event is also the choir's group premiere. On the same day, the choir performed the 2024 Spring Festival Gala out of the circle "Shangchun Mountain" and the famous Guangfu nursery rhyme "Falling Rain" in the Spring Balcony Theater. With classic songs and fresh voices, the choir brought a musical feast full of innocence and childlike fun to the audience.
The "Yan Shiji" co-reading sharing session aims to let people get a glimpse of the meaning of "capitalization" in life in the small daily life through reading. According to reports, "Yan Shiji" is one of the rare excellent masterpieces of Lingnan narrative, which reflects the changes in Lingnan food and material culture through the description of the life and family affairs of two generations of craftsmen. At the event, two sharing guests, Yang Dayi and Zhang Chao, had a heated discussion with the readers, exchanged experiences, and discussed the influence and significance of reading in modern life.
At sunset on the same day, the Guyu Broadway Banquet was held in the face of Long West Village in Long Tou Ancient Village. "The Book of Rites" contains "the people who drink in the township, so the order of the elders and the young is also." "The Broadway Banquet is an unchanging custom in Longtou Village, and it is also the inheritance of the ancient style of respecting the elderly. At the Broadway Banquet, the elders over 60 years old in the village sat together to enjoy home cooking and delicious food, and the songs and laughter echoed between the ancient blue brick walls of Longtou.

Culture infiltrates the countryside, and the revitalization of the countryside calls for more "companions"
In the past year, Chun Balcony has exhibited a number of exhibitions, such as "Harmony with the Dao: The Survival and Destiny of Chinese Scholars", "Critical and Differential Order: The Differentiated Construction of Longtou Ancient Village", and "Insect Tour: Traveling with Zhu Yingchun and Insects", which have been widely praised by people from all walks of life at home and abroad, and the cultural brand awareness and influence have been greatly improved. On the occasion of the anniversary, the permanent exhibition of "He Dao Dashi" on the Spring Balcony has also been renewed, and 11 new collections have been officially presented to the audience, including many rare and precious collections, such as Zhang Zhidong's book "Guangchuan Shuba: The Book of the Crane Minghou" with four screens.
At the same time, experts and scholars such as Ge Jianxiong, senior professor of liberal arts at Fudan University, Dai Jinhua, distinguished professor of humanities at Peking University, and Zhang Yonghe, the chief architect of Spring Balcony, have also visited Spring Balcony and given keynote lectures. Spring Balcony has also successively carried out in-depth cooperation with provincial, municipal and district education bureaus and primary and secondary schools to create a number of youth research activities, and was rated as a research and practice base for primary and secondary school students in Huadu District last year, creating a demonstration space for the experience of traditional Chinese culture in the Greater Bay Area through high-quality research formats.
The spring balcony is also a cultural banner of the rural revitalization cause of Long Tou. According to reports, in 2021, the Huadu District Government and Vipshop Public Welfare signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the Longtou Rural Revitalization Project, innovating the implementation of the cooperation model of "government + enterprise + village collective", taking the cultural revitalization of ancient villages as the entry point, exploring a new path of high-quality rural development, and creating a sustainable model for achieving common prosperity.
Up to now, the project has invested more than 200 million yuan in public welfare, and in addition to the spring balcony, it has also built a diversified business facilities such as the "Hechun Zhu" boutique homestay, the "Heart Painting China" immersive light and shadow art exhibition, the grass land and the market shops, and introduced the top domestic planning team to do protective planning to promote the revitalization of Longtou culture and industry.
