On the sunny day of International Children's Day, the campus of the primary school of Dongyiwan Experimental School in Shunde District was a lively scene. Folk craftsmen from all over Shunde brought traditional folk arts such as triangular origami, bamboo weaving, fish lamp creation, silk screen flowers, porcelain paintings, handmade small dragon boat making, Guangzhou embroidery, crochet, and gray sculpture into the campus and interacted closely with the children.
On the playground, various folk art exhibition areas attracted many students to stop and watch. The craftsmen taught the students to try folding by themselves, feel the infinite charm of paper art, and the students personally weaved to experience the uniqueness of bamboo weaving art. Silk screen flowers, porcelain paintings, handmade dragon boat making, Cantonese embroidery, crochet and gray sculpture also have their own unique exhibits, and students actively participated in the exquisite works and experienced the production process of these traditional folk arts.
The "Folk Art into Campus" activity not only allowed the students to get close to the traditional folk arts in Shunde, but also made them feel the charm of traditional culture. Through personal participation and experience, I felt the craftsman spirit of Shunde folk art. The students have a deeper knowledge and understanding of traditional culture, which also stimulates their love and awareness of traditional culture.
The relevant person in charge of the school said that the follow-up will continue to strengthen cooperation with the inheritors of folk arts, introduce more traditional culture into the campus, so that students can feel the charm of traditional culture in happy learning, and inherit and carry forward the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.
