On the evening of December 11, 2023, the Shanghai police, with the cooperation of the Beijing police, summoned a woman named Sun Ranran (pseudonym) in accordance with the law.
Sun Ranran used to be an actress and has a bright future in the eyes of outsiders, so why did she become a criminal suspect? It all started with Hu Wen (pseudonym) reporting the case one day at the end of 2023.
Hu Wen told the police that he was watching the live broadcast on a short video platform at first, and then he paid attention to Sun Ranran, who was doing the live broadcast. Out of the idea of "showing off", in just a few days, he gave Sun Ranran a virtual gift worth 200,000 yuan. Then, he quickly added it to Sun Ranran's WeChat.
At that time, Sun Ranran always told Hu Wen that he and his relatives had encountered various financial difficulties. Considering that Sun Ranran's profession is an actor and he should have the ability to repay, Hu Wen very generously lent Sun Ranran 2.4 million yuan one after another.
However, whenever it comes time to repay the money, Sun Ranran will always encounter all kinds of troubles, resulting in no money to repay in the end. Later, Hu Wen became suspicious of Sun Ranran's reason for borrowing money, so he reported the case to the police.
The day after the police received the report, another man, Qiao Yuanhang (pseudonym), also came to the police station after learning that Hu Wen had been in contact with Hu Wen. He said that he also lent Sun Ranran 880,000 yuan, and Sun Ranran's reason for borrowing money from him was almost the same as Hu Wen's.
After investigating Sun Ranran's bank statements, the police found that the money transferred to Sun Ranran by the informant was not used to solve her financial needs as Sun Ranran said when she borrowed the money. Therefore, the police determined that Sun Ranran was suspected of fraud.
After Sun Ranran arrived at the case, she told the police that she noticed a male fan named Lu Ziqi who claimed to be born in 1999 during a live broadcast. This Lu Ziqi said that he was worth more than 100 million yuan, owned a luxury car and a large estate, and was extremely generous, and gave Sun Ranran a virtual gift worth 200,000 yuan in just one week. And in Sun Ranran's view, Lu Ziqi has a sweet mouth and can provide emotional value, so they quickly talked about online dating.
Sun Ranran's "nightmare" also began.
Sun Ranran said that after that, Lu Ziqi said that he was deceived by a friend into going to an underground gambling den, and was detained after owing a huge amount of gambling debts, so he needed money to repay his gambling debts. At the same time, he and his mother have a joint account with 6 million yuan in it. Because he cut off contact with his parents, he wanted to use illegal means to change the account to his personal name and withdraw the money, so he needed to make a connection, so he asked Sun Ranran for money.
Sun Ranran, who was in love, did not realize that her online dating boyfriend Lu Ziqi was deceiving herself. In order to give Lu Ziqi more money, she not only took out her own and her parents' savings, but also borrowed money from people around her, and even borrowed a huge amount of online loans. In order to continue to raise money for Lu Ziqi, she even began to use the reason that Lu Ziqi deceived her, and then polished and adapted it to deceive her fans Hu Wen and Qiao Yuanhang.
After mastering such a character as Lu Ziqi, after investigation, the police arrested a woman named Qiao Nan (pseudonym) in Gansu, who was the one who had been dating Sun Ranran on the Internet for 3 years.
According to Qiao Nan, the name "Lu Ziqi" was seen when she was reading a novel on the Internet. Qiao Nan said that she had almost no friends in the real world, so she packaged herself as a "rich second generation" on the Internet. Then use the method of casting a wide net to send virtual gifts to different female anchors to become friends with them and get their attention.
But the character design is fake after all, when Sun Ranran and other female anchors asked to meet her offline, she fabricated reasons such as being detained and needing to get the money in the joint account with her mother to meet, on the one hand, delaying and refusing to meet, and on the other hand, defrauding the female anchor of money.
After the case was solved, she learned that her "online boyfriend" was actually her daughter, and Sun Ranran's heart was greatly impacted, but this was not the reason why she defrauded the two victims. Her so-called "for love" is just a pretext for her to alleviate the guilt in her heart.
At present, the criminal suspects Sun Ranran and Qiao Nan have been arrested by the procuratorate on suspicion of fraud.
