From the mouth of the Iranian media, we can know that the Iranian air defense system shot down a total of three drones in this attack, and Iranian officials said that the explosion was made by the air defense system when it shot down the drone, and there was no damage to the ground target.
Immediately after the attack, Iran halted all flights of commercial aircraft in its territory, but the ban was lifted a few hours later.
Now Iranian officials appear to be deliberately downplaying the attack, characterizing the drone attack as a "drone attack by domestic infiltrators", and state media only reported that air defenses in the area activated and intercepted a few targets, and there was no follow-up report, and if Israel did not admit it with much fanfare, it is estimated that the matter would have passed.

Isfahan is known mainly because of the presence of a large uranium enrichment facility in the area, called Natanz, which has been the target of several hypothetical Israeli air strikes.
In addition, there are also a number of air bases of the Iranian Air Force and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Forces, such as Hesa Air Base, Shekhari Air Base, etc., and the intercepted drones are near Shekhari Air Base.
This air base currently stores a lot of Iranian F-14 fighters in service, these fighters can be said to be the "sharp knife force" of Iran in the air before the arrival of Russia's Su-35, if all the F-14s are destroyed, then the Iranian Air Force's offensive capability will be cut by at least half. In addition to these facilities, the Isfahan region is home to several Iranian drone and other military manufacturing enterprises, which can be said to be a major military center in Iran.
For so many targets with high military value, Israel has only dispatched a few drones to strike, which is a bit too child's play, and it does not match the style of Israel in the past.
What is the point of such a careless "counterattack"?
Some analysts believe that Israel's drone attack is actually a "face project";
Considering the distance between Israel and Isfahan, without careful planning and systematic exercises, it would be very difficult for Israeli air force fighters to achieve unexpected results, and they would also have to bear considerable risks.

In addition, Israel has promised the United States that it will not attack nuclear facilities, but in fact, if it wants to, it will not be able to attack it now, and the Natanz uranium enrichment plant has long been moved underground, and it will not be able to hurt it at all without extremely specialized ground-penetrating bombs.
So the only targets left to hit here are those few air bases, because these bases are the key airfields for Iran to take off directly to Israel in a possible full-scale war, and Israeli drones can reach this place, and there is also an explanation to the domestic people: You see, I can hit the Iranian air base that poses the greatest threat to us, so you don't have to worry too much...
