The all-new locally-produced X3 model is also expected to debut in the second half of the year and is expected to go on sale before the end of the year, with major competitors including Mercedes-Benz GLC, Audi Q5 and Cadillac XT5.

It is reported that BMW engineers have conducted extensive tests on the new SUV in hot and cold conditions, and recently went to the BMW Group test center in Miramas, France, to fine-tune the chassis control and driver assistance systems. According to BMW's official statement, the new X3 has a wider track than its predecessor, and the rear axle generates less lift. The body and chassis are also stiffer than before, with BMW increasing the caster angle of the kingpin on the front wheels by 19 percent, while also modifying the anti-roll bar, changing the steering ratio to improve steering comfort, and developing an optional adaptive chassis with electronically controlled shock absorbers.

The all-new X3 will also be equipped with the latest BMW Drive settings, which use the iDrive 9 operating system and the traditional iDrive controller. BMW claims to have improved driver assistance features, noting that the sensitivity of braking and steering interventions has been improved to create "a more harmonious interaction between the driver and the vehicle in any situation".
In terms of power, BMW's all-new X3 will be built on the CLAR platform and will be powered by 2.0T, 2.0T plug-in hybrid and 3.0T inline-six turbocharged engines, all equipped with an 8-speed automatic manual transmission and xDrive all-wheel drive system. In addition, the interior of the new car will also provide a new shape of the multi-function steering wheel, and equipped with a floating LCD instrument + LCD central control integrated curved screen, and the lower part is replaced with an electronic toggle shift mechanism.
