Alum ore has a history of more than 1,300 years since the beginning of quarrying and refining in the Tang Dynasty, which was once the largest alum industrial base in China, and also the birthplace of alum culture in China and even the world, known as "the pillar of China's alum industry and the mother of Anhui chemical industry". On April 18th, the "Building Dreams of Modernization and Drawing a New Picture" concentrated interview group walked into Jinshan Town, Lujiang County, Hefei City, visited the alum mine industrial site, and listened to the stories of the years.
In May 2021, Jinshan Town, Lujiang County, together with two investment holding groups in Hefei, established a joint venture company to start the Alum Mining Cultural Tourism Complex Project, with a planned area of about 10,000 mu, of which the buildable land area is about 1,200 mu, with a total investment of about 3 billion yuan. Relying on the historic birthplace of alum industry, it is positioned to build a national 5A-level scenic spot, a national tourist resort, and a national popular science research and education base.
"The old buildings of the original Lujiang alum mine are unique and have unique historical imprints and styles. Xie Xiaowei, deputy general manager of Jinshan Cultural Tourism Investment Co., Ltd., told reporters that when the renovation of the scenic spot was started, it insisted on protecting the old buildings, and repaired and renovated the original buildings such as the Alum Miners' Club, the old office building of the Alum Mine, the Finance Building, and the Eight Great Kilns. The new part emphasizes modern design, creating a modern comprehensive scenic spot with strong contrast, and attracting young consumers with industrial sites, alum culture, and modern technology as the theme elements.
In the process of retaining the original old building, we insist on "new wine in old bottles", and the business format is co-ordinated, and the content comes first. Based on the structural characteristics and architectural culture of the original industrial relics, combined with the development characteristics of Jinshan Town, it is planned to build new landmarks of the scenic spot with great characteristics such as the Jinshan Cultural Tourism Tourist Reception Center, the Health and Wellness Resort, and the Internet Celebrity Train, so as to attract consumers to come to check in and consume.
"The Jinshan Cultural Tourism Project will be carefully designed based on the original architectural mechanism, and under the 'culture +' mode, it is planned to build characteristic cultural venues such as the Jinshan Historical and Cultural Exhibition Hall, the Folk Art Workshop, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Workshop, and the Industrial Art Museum, and gradually build a cultural multi-format gathering area based on the Alum culture and highlighting the new fashion. Xie Xiaowei said.
"Relying on the opportunity of the landing of key cultural and tourism projects along the Lunan Sichuan-Tibet Line and along the line, we will promote the rapid development of all-for-one tourism in Jinshan Town. Yang Ting, member of the Party Committee and Propaganda Committee of Jinshan Town, told reporters that through the method of "connecting the dots into a line and leading the area with a line", we will concentrate on the advantages of natural resources to quickly promote the development of the cultural and tourism industry in places with significant advantages in natural resources, help the surrounding villagers to broaden the channels for increasing income, and at the same time drive more villagers to develop public homestays and farmhouses, and improve the supporting facilities of cultural tourism along the route.
At the same time, adhere to the concept of seeking green development in the protection of industrial sites, take green as the main color of development and the background color of tourism, integrate the "two mountains theory" into the town's cultural tourism project, combine the millennium alum culture and characteristic ecological resources, and deeply integrate the cultural tourism project with culture, tourism and agriculture, and make every effort to create a "Lujiang alum mine model" with industrial prosperity, tourism activity, ecological beauty and people's wealth, so that the land of Lujiang alum mine can be "lived" and "fired".
