On this year's Qingming Festival, 75-year-old Shang Zongnian, Chu Laowei, Qinglongchang Community, Bailong Town, Feidong County, Hefei City, as in previous years, took his family to the tomb of the martyr Wu Changyi to worship. This martyr is not Shang Zongnian's relatives, but since Shang Zongnian's grandfather's generation, merchants have taken turns to guard it, and it has been 85 years.

Since childhood, Shang Zongnian learned from his grandfather that in 1939, Wu Changyi was ordered to go to Qinglong Township, Feidong County, with General Gao Jingting's Red 28th Army (later changed to the fourth detachment of the New Fourth Army) to carry out revolutionary work, and in 1941, Wu Changyi, who was only 19 years old, died heroically in a battle with the Japanese puppet army to save children, and later the fourth detachment of the New Fourth Army buried Wu Changyi in a field near Chu Laowei.
"Wu Changyi dedicated himself to the revolution for the happiness of our poor, and he is a good brother to our peasants. After Wu Changyi's heroic deeds spread, Shang Zongnian's grandfather, Shang Wei, was deeply moved. Since then, the merchants have begun to guard and worship the martyr's tomb of Wu Changyi every year, and at the same time, the family style and family motto of the merchants have been passed down for generations.

In 1992, Shang Zongnian's father died. Before leaving, he said to Shang Zongnian: "Son, you have to remember that you can not worship the tomb of your father and grandmother, but you must go to worship the martyr's tomb every year, and you must take good care of the tomb." ”
His father's last words were deeply in Shang Zongnian's heart, and every year during the Spring Festival and Qingming Festival, he would bring his daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter to worship the martyrs' tombs. Every once in a while, he will come to the tomb to see if the grass has grown too much and needs to be weeded, and where the tomb is damaged and needs to be repaired.

In addition to guarding this martyr's tomb, in the past ten years, Shang Zongnian has also served as a security guard for the "Memorial Hall of the Fourth Detachment of the New Fourth Army Eastward Advance to the Anti-Japanese War", on duty in the museum, although the income is not high, more than 1,000 yuan per month, Shang Zongnian works here very seriously. He felt that this work was very sacred, just like guarding the tombs of martyrs all along.
Over the years, Shang Zongnian has been educating children: never forget the martyrs, guarding the martyrs' tombs is the most important thing in our family, and we must pass on the baton of guarding the martyrs' tombs from generation to generation. Now, her daughter Shang Hongxia's son-in-law Liang Dong has also joined the ranks of worship, and her granddaughter Liang Yuerong has also graduated from college and joined the work, and she will take time to come back to worship every year.
