Dry goods recommendation丨SOLIDWORKS drawing title bar attribute link setting

author:Senke Yunchuang

SOLIDWORKS drawing title block attribute linking is an important part of the drawing process, which involves automatically linking the attribute values of files, custom attributes, or specified model configuration properties to the title block of the drawing.

For those who don't know how to operate, follow the editor today

1. Since the title bar of a SOLIDWORKS drawing is part of the content from the part (or assembly) file, you need to prepare a simple part before making the attribute link. In the part, first establish the properties we need.

2. Establish the required attribute information in the part file. Select File Properties - Custom. There are some preset properties available in SOLIDWORKS, which we can fill in or change directly, or create new properties ourselves.

3. Let's take the new property as an example, click "Type New Property" to add a new property name. Select "Text" as the type. Enter the attribute value in the Numeric/Literal Expression field. The "Evaluated Value" does not need to be filled in and is automatically generated. Here we create a property name "Warehouse Number" and enter "Warehouse No. 1" in the numeric value/literal expression.

4. Attributes supported by SOLIDWORKS.

(1) Automatic Attributes – Automatic attributes are maintained by the application that created the attributes. These properties include the date the file was created, the date it was last modified, and the file size.

(2) Preset Attributes – Preset Attributes already exist, but users have to add text data to the properties themselves. The properties that are preset in SOLIDWORKS are stored in Property.txt files. You can edit the file to add or remove preset attributes.

(3) Custom attributes - Custom attributes are defined by the user and applied to this document.

(4) Configure specific attributes – Configure specific attributes only to be applied to specific configurations.

(5) SolidWorks Specific Properties – There are several custom properties that can be automatically updated by SolidWorks. These properties include the quality of the part and the material.

5. Insert a view of the part into the drawing.
