On April 16, after the launching ceremony of the "Overseas Chinese Love Project, Warm Plateau Love - 2024 Guangdong Tianxingjian Charity Foundation Nyingchi Gongbu Jiangda County Charity Activity", Lian Xiaomin, member of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, led a team to the site of the optometry project of Jiangda Township Central Primary School to inspect the development of the "Overseas Chinese Love, Rural Students' Optometry Project - Into Nyingchi Gongbu Jiangda" project. At the event, Cai Minzhen, vice chairman of Tianxingjian Charity Foundation, introduced the five implementation steps of the optometry project to Vice Chairman Lian Xiaomin and his party in detail. Vice Chairman Lian Xiaomin carefully inspected the operation process of each link such as primary screening, dilated pupils, computerized optometry, insert optometry, and frame selection, and spoke highly of the professional skills and dedication of the optometrist volunteer team. Vice Chairman Lian Xiaomin pointed out that young people are the hope of the country and the future of the nation. The activity of "Overseas Chinese Love, Rural Students' Optometry Project - Entering Nyingchi Gongbu Jiangda" provides eye and vision health screening and free glasses for students in Tibetan areas, which is a vivid embodiment of enhancing ethnic unity and forging the sense of community of the Chinese nation. The All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese will continue to increase its support for optometry projects, mobilize and guide more overseas Chinese public welfare and charity forces to participate together, and form a joint force with All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese organizations at all levels to benefit more rural primary and secondary school students, so that "small but beautiful" public welfare projects can play a greater role, and fully demonstrate the responsibility of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese organizations to actively participate in social construction and help rural revitalization.
From April 16th to 19th, the charity team will also go to 8 township primary schools in the county, including Jinda Town Central Primary School, Zhula Township Central Primary School, Jiaxing Township Central Primary School, Bahe Town Central Primary School, Niangpu Township Central Primary School, Zhongsha Township Central Primary School, and Cuogao Township Central Primary School in Gongbu Jiangda County, to conduct vision screening for more than 3,000 primary school students and distribute free glasses to students with poor vision.
A child's bright future is inseparable from bright eyes. General Secretary Xi Jinping called on "the whole society to take action to take care of children's eyes and let them have a bright future". In 2016, under the guidance of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Guangdong Tianxingjian Charity Foundation launched the "See the Blackboard, Dream the Future" youth optometry charity project. For eight consecutive years, the project organized a team of professional optometrists to carry out activities in Nyingchi in Tibet, Yushu in Qinghai and Nujiang in Yunnan Province to conduct vision screening for students in township schools in ethnic minority areas, and distribute free glasses to children with poor eyesight, hold lectures on healthy eye use in schools, and distribute eye care manuals to teachers and students, forming a set of effective standardized process plans, benefiting more than 100,000 students. In 2023, the "Seeing the Blackboard, Dreaming of the Future" Youth Optometry Charity Project won the 12th China Charity Award.

In 2021, in order to further give full play to the power of overseas Chinese public welfare and charity, and help consolidate and expand the effective connection between the achievements of poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, the Grassroots Construction Department of the China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese launched the special public welfare activity of "Overseas Chinese Love, Rural Student Optometry Project", which was jointly promoted with the China Overseas Chinese Public Welfare Foundation, bringing together the strength of overseas Chinese public welfare and charitable organizations and caring people, and "seeing the blackboard and dreaming of the future" of Tianxingjian The standardized process plan of the Youth Optometry Charity Project has been promoted and amplified, and General Secretary Xi Jinping's care for the vision health of young people has been implemented. Up to now, the project has been carried out in more than 20 provinces across the country, and has carried out eye health and vision screening for 150,000 primary and secondary school students in border areas, ethnic minority areas, remote mountainous areas, and old revolutionary areas, and distributed free glasses to 32,000 eligible students.
