In order to further strengthen the supervision of kitchen waste and waste oil, and improve the level of professional collection, transportation and resource treatment of kitchen waste, on April 16, the staff of the Municipal Office of Sanyuanli Street, Baiyun District, went to Kaide Plaza in Jisan Community to conduct a special inspection of the kitchen waste treatment situation of catering shops. The purpose of this operation is to strengthen the environmental management of the catering industry in the region, ensure that food waste is properly disposed of, and protect the urban environment.

During this inspection, the staff conducted a detailed review of the food waste classification, collection, storage and treatment of food waste in the catering shops. They found that although most businesses have realized the importance of kitchen waste disposal and have taken certain classification measures, there are still some merchants with problems such as inaccurate classification and non-standard storage facilities. In this regard, the inspectors put forward rectification suggestions and asked the relevant businesses to make corrections within a time limit.

Kitchen waste, also known as wet waste, mainly comes from the waste generated in the daily life of residents, food processing, catering services, etc. If not properly disposed of, this type of waste not only causes foul odors, but also becomes a breeding ground for germs and pests, posing a threat to the environment and public health. Therefore, correct classification and timely treatment are essential for urban environmental sanitation.

This inspection is not only a routine supervision of catering shops, but also an important measure to promote the in-depth development of garbage classification. Through such inspections, problems can be found and solved in a timely manner, improving the environmental awareness of catering operators and promoting the standardized management of kitchen waste.

During the inspection, the staff also carried out publicity and education on the knowledge of garbage classification for the merchants, emphasizing the importance and urgency of kitchen waste disposal. They encourage businesses to recycle resources by adopting more environmentally friendly disposal methods, such as using biodegradable technologies or converting food waste into organic fertilizer.

In order to further improve the efficiency and quality of kitchen waste treatment in the catering industry, the Sanyuanli Sub-district Municipal Office also plans to carry out more publicity and education activities in the future and establish a long-term management mechanism with businesses. In addition, the municipal office will also work with the urban management law enforcement office to increase the punishment of violations to ensure that the regulations are effectively enforced.
