In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, further accelerate the construction of a healthy Beijing, popularize health science knowledge, and improve the level of public health literacy, supported by the 2024 Science Popularization Special Funding Project of the Beijing Association for Science and Technology (Grassroots Organization Science Popularization Special Action), the "Healthy Beijing Science Popularization Peer" Health Science Popularization into Five Advances Activity - Community Activity, sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Beijing Health Education Association, was held in the community of No. 24 Fuxing Road, Haidian District on the morning of April 11, 2024.
More than 60 retired veteran cadres of the community participated in the event, including 5 veteran generals over 90 years old who attended the event. The lecture had a warm atmosphere and frequent interactions, and was well received by retired veteran cadres.
In order to effectively care about the physical and mental health of retired military cadres and effectively improve the quality of life of retired military cadres in their later years, this lecture tour invited two national health science popularization experts and Beijing health science popularization experts: Niu Guowei, director and researcher of the Aerobic Exercise Center of Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital, and Liu Yuchao, chief physician of the Geriatric Department of Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine affiliated to Capital Medical University, respectively, to carry out theme lectures on "Scientific Exercise to Prevent Falls in the Elderly" and "Summer Health Care for the Elderly". Answering questions and solving doubts popularized simple and practical health science knowledge and skills.

In the next step, the Health Education Institute of the Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the Municipal Health Education Association will continue to take the "Capital Citizen Health Convention" as the core, and arrange targeted health science lectures according to the health problems and health needs of key groups in five types of places (communities, schools, enterprises, institutions, and rural areas).
