- How many liters of refrigerator do you want to buy?
When we bought a refrigerator, the first thing the salesperson said was this. However, although the "liter" of the refrigerator sounds familiar, many people do not know it when you look into it. "L" represents the internal capacity of the refrigerator, but -
•How can a refrigerator with the same capacity be "more fitting"?
• How can there be a refrigerator with the same capacity that "can't fit"?
• How can some refrigerators with the same capacity be "unaffordable"?
Obuchi knew several salesmen, and he finally told the truth under my "coercion and temptation"! Today, we will focus on the "liter" of the refrigerator and talk about the details that are worth paying attention to when buying a refrigerator.
.01 Capacity and volume
For a box, it is certain that the larger the capacity, the larger the volume. But this doesn't seem to be the case for refrigerators, such as the two refrigerators below
The volume of the refrigerator on the left is 1.13 m³ and the volume of the refrigerator on the right is 1.21 m³, but both of them have a capacity of 605 liters.
This is actually related to their door type, under the same capacity:
Three-door refrigerators are the smallest, followed by French-door refrigerators, double-door refrigerators again, and cross-door refrigerators are the largest.
Obuchi suggests: If your home has limited space and is sensitive to space occupancy, you might as well choose a door type first.
.02 Volume & Reservation
Does a refrigerator with the same volume occupy the same area? The answer is no! Unlike other household appliances, a refrigerator needs to dissipate heat outward when it works, so it needs to reserve space for heat dissipation.
Different refrigerators have different requirements for heat dissipation space.
The most intuitive example is my refrigerator: there is a radiator on the top, and the worker proposed to instruct me during the installation that no debris can be placed on the top, and the distance from the obstacle should not be less than 15cm.
In addition, 15cm should be reserved for the left and right sides of it.
Some people want to improve the utilization of space and make the refrigerator built-in, but this kind of house is definitely not good.
• If you just want to make a wall cabinet on top, just choose a refrigerator without a radiator on top.
• If you want to build the refrigerator in its entirety, choose a professional built-in refrigerator (the size of the reservation is less than 1cm on all sides).
Obuchi suggests: Users who need to embed must buy a professional built-in refrigerator. But users who don't need to embed don't need to spend this unjust money, built-in refrigerators are much more expensive than ordinary refrigerators!
.03 capacity with partitions
If you use a few more refrigerators, you will find such a problem: some refrigerators do not have a large capacity, but they can easily fit in daily food. Although some refrigerators have a large capacity, the food cannot be put without cutting.
This brings us to the design of the refrigerator's divider:
• Some refrigerators are finely designed, with a small drawer here and a small partition there. However, too many partitions will inevitably lead to a smaller size of each storage space, making it impossible for large items of food to stay.
• Some refrigerators have a rough design, with two or three large partitions and large drawers. The partition is less and the space is larger, but the partition is not fine enough, and it is troublesome to rummage through the food every time.
So what kind of partition design to choose still depends on individual needs -
If there is a lot of packaged food, it is recommended to choose a small partition, and if there is a lot of bulk food, it is recommended to choose a large partition.
Obuchi suggests: The internal partition space of the double-door refrigerator is the smallest, and other door-type refrigerators are large and small (but also larger than the double-door refrigerator). So when buying a double-door refrigerator, you must consider it carefully.
.04 Preservation & Zoning
Why are refrigerators of the same brand and the same capacity sold at a higher or lower price? There may be many differences, but if you look at their partitions, they must be different - the refrigerators with higher prices have finer partitions.
Partitions, which can be divided into temperature zones and partitions:
The temperature zone means that the temperature can be adjusted individually, just like the freezer and refrigerator rooms. The temperature zone occupies a large space, so the more temperature zones there are for a refrigerator with the same capacity, the larger the volume. However, the temperature zone also has the greatest impact on the preservation effect, and the more temperature zones, the better the preservation effect.
The partition is the small drawer mentioned above, which is generally attached to the freezer or refrigerator. It cannot be tempered, but it can often be moisturized or dried. Small drawers can also improve freshness, but more often we will use them as ordinary partitions, which are less useful.
• If you have high requirements for food preservation (such as the need to preserve breast milk), it is recommended to choose a multi-zone refrigerator.
• If you have high requirements for food classification, it is recommended to choose a multi-compartment refrigerator.
Obuchi suggested: The number of temperature zones and partitions should be selected according to actual needs, and it is not possible to say "the more the better" or "the less the better". After all, the higher the quantity, the higher the price, the larger the volume, and the smaller the storage space in a single zone.
