The reporter of Beiqing Daily learned from the Municipal Landscaping Bureau that the construction of wild plant protection community is a specific action to implement the specific actions stipulated in the National Forestry and Grassland Administration's "14th Five-Year Plan" National Rescue and Protection Plan for Wild Plants with Very Small Populations on the construction of in-situ protection points or protected communities outside nature reserves, opening a new way to protect wild plants, laying a solid foundation for the construction of ex-situ conservation bases for wild plants, and finding a new way to promote the integration of plant protection and forest cultural value. The global forest city and garden city provide backup resources.

After the city's first wild plant protection community was unveiled in Fangshan, boundary posts and fences will be set up to carry out protection, and at the same time, publicity will be strengthened through billboards, and special personnel will be arranged to strengthen patrol supervision. On the premise of ensuring safety, the comprehensive value of key protected wild plants should be scientifically developed, and the resource advantages should be transformed into development momentum and the transformation of ecological value should be realized. For Yahua Valley, the ornamental value of wild plants will be developed in combination with local tourism in the later stage, and the protected community will gradually be built into an ex-situ conservation base for endangered plants, a wild return base, and a teaching base for students.

According to He Yi, a second-level researcher at the Resource Conservation Center of the Municipal Landscaping Bureau, in recent years, Beijing has continuously increased its ecological construction efforts and continued to carry out biodiversity conservation, and the latest survey shows that 612 species of terrestrial wild vertebrates have been found in the city, and 2,088 species of vascular plants have been recorded. With the background investigation of wild plants, the investigation of plant germplasm resources, and the in-situ, near-situ and ex-situ conservation of rare and endangered plants, some very small populations of plants such as honeysuckle suckle, jujube kiwifruit, large-flowered dipper, fritillary, buttercup and maple clematis have been discovered and protected.

The city will take the construction of the first wild plant protection community as an opportunity to further increase the protection of wild plant resources, build a smart protection system for wild animals and plants, and lay a solid green foundation for the capital to take the lead in realizing the modernization of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
