Isn't preschool literacy a way to learn ahead of time and pull out the seedlings to help them grow?

Text: Ning Ma Wuyu

I have written many articles about children's literacy, and I have received a lot of feedback, and some comments are very sad, it turns out that "it is difficult to change the minds of adults." ”

Isn't preschool literacy a way to learn ahead of time and pull out the seedlings to help them grow?

Some people say that sooner or later everyone will know how to read, why do you have to learn in kindergarten, it is because everyone has spoiled the atmosphere, how good it is to go to kindergarten happily.

Some people say that every parent wants their child to become a prodigy, but what about actually becoming a prodigy?

Some people say that they can read and write at the age of 3, so why doesn't the Ministry of Education stipulate that they can go to primary school at the age of 3?

Some people say that kindergarten is to cultivate interest, and one word is to have fun! Kindergarten does the work of primary school, what does primary school do, everything in advance, not afraid of tired children!

......

Many friends express their dissatisfaction with early literacy in different ways, and the meaning revealed between the lines is: literacy before going to primary school is to learn ahead of time, and it is to pull out the seedlings to help them grow.

01

In fact, it is not stipulated that kindergartens cannot read and write, which means that they cannot violate the cognitive laws of children, and deliberately let children recognize words in some rigid ways, so that children feel pain and damage children's physical and mental health.

The "Learning and Development Guide for Children Aged 3-6" points out that the use of mechanical memory and intensive training to make children literate too early is not in line with their learning characteristics and receptivity.

If the child has a great interest in literacy, and the child wants to recognize words, will he say to the child, "I won't tell you, don't be tired!", is the child confused, oh, it is wrong to recognize words, it is a very tiring thing, then he will have a good impression of words?

When I was in the first grade, the teacher asked the children to read if they didn't know how to read, and they couldn't understand the questions, and they began to dislike the children for being stupid and slow to learn, and even the parents worried about literacy.

Just like when a child is a child, he likes to ask why curiously, and the parent impatiently says to him, "How can there be so many things to do?" When the child grows up, the parents blame him for not being curious and not knowing how to ask when he encounters problems.

At the age of 2 or so, children become interested in words and like to ask "What to read?" when they see it, and we tell him that pronunciation is a natural thing to do, just to satisfy his curiosity and desire to learn, and to let him know that his questions will be answered in a timely manner. It is not mandatory for children to remember how many words, let it be, children gain happiness and comfort, and it has nothing to do with pulling seedlings to help grow.

Erbao likes to read and write when he is less than 2 years old, and tells him whatever he asks, and does not expect him to remember at a young age. After a long time, he was suddenly able to read a text, which was really surprising. After accumulating a lot, he has become very fluent in reading picture books by himself, and his tones and sentence breaks are very accurate, and he sounds very comfortable.

I also have a lot of positive feedback from my friends.

Some people say that children begin to read and write at the age of 2, and like to watch people play cards and chess, so they know the names of chess and cards.

Some people say that children like to read pictures at the age of 3 and like to read words from the beginning, and they can read astronomy, geography and history books at the age of 5, which broadens their horizons and loves reading.

Some people say that children are less than 4 years old, they love to read and write, and they should know one or two thousand, and children like it, so why not?

......

Yes, interest is the first motivation for learning. Our words are like beautiful pictures, children like to read and like to recognize, isn't it just a matter of following the trend? Why do we have to recognize children after they go to primary school?

In the past few years, I have received inquiries from some friends, including parents of kindergarten children and parents of children who have just entered the first and second grades. After I shared the method, they gave me very good feedback afterwards, and the children are very happy that they are literate and love to read.

I don't know how many parents can see this, but I still want to share some ways to let children recognize words painlessly, so that friends who are destined can benefit. The method is very simple, it does not need to spend extra money, and it can be done according to the child's interests.

02

Recognize words naturally in real life

Words don't need to be deliberately found, they can be found everywhere in life.

At home, on electrical appliances, tableware, packaging boxes, rice, flour, oil, sauce and vinegar, cleaning supplies, calendars, clothes, where is there no text?

On the road, traffic signs, street signs, door numbers, community names, store names, car names, advertisements on buses, etc., there are so many words that are dazzling.

It is to go to the park, originally to enjoy the scenery, but it is inevitable to encounter words, such as some warning signs, road signs, display boards, maps, etc., words are everywhere.

The same is true in shopping malls, where there are a variety of price tags, preferential policies, shop names, and so on.

These words have actual functions, and the forms of expression are different, the colors and shapes are very distinctive, which is very easy to attract children's attention and stimulate their natural instinct to not know how to ask.

Many words will appear repeatedly in different places, and children will naturally remember it when they see more.

03

Literacy through different forms of reading

The ultimate goal of literacy is to read, and literacy through reading is the most reliable route.

There are many friends who use flashcards, literacy software, and literacy books to let their children know a lot of words, but they encounter obstacles when switching to reading, so they still start from scratch. You can directly avoid these inefficient and detouring methods, and just read them.

Choose the right books according to your child's interests, and if your child can read them, literacy is a piggybacking thing.

For example, Tang poems and children's songs are catchy and have a strong sense of rhythm and rhythm, and children like to memorize and sing since they were young, and they have long been familiar with them. Then show the child the book, and the child will be able to "read the book well". The beginning of the reading may be memorization, we applaud him, he likes to read repeatedly, read and read, and really correspond to each word.

For example, picture books have many pictures and few words, and the text form is very interesting. The child begins to like to look at pictures, and when they understand them, they transfer their interest to words. I was particularly interested in those characters with characteristics, and I unconsciously remembered a lot.

Like the large characters of different shapes and colors on the cover, the contrasting bold characters inside, the names of the items, the words in the color blocks, the longitudinal arrangement of the text, the crooked text, the sound of the text, the text hidden in the page, etc., as long as there are distinctive characteristics, children like to know it.

Picture books have a storyline, children can understand the meaning of words in a paragraph, and the use of words in different scenes has accumulated to a certain extent, children not only know words, but also understand and use them, which is the ability we want children to acquire.

This method is suitable for children in kindergarten and early elementary school.

If the child is about to enter the first grade or has already entered the first grade, and it is imminent to recognize words, you may wish to find out the books that the child has read before, and then accompany the child to read, the child must be very fast in recognizing words. Cognitive books, palm books, picture books, etc., which I have read before, are all good materials for literacy.

04

Literacy through different activities

As far as I know, there are also some children who know a lot of words because they have special hobbies, and as long as they are relaxed, there is nothing wrong with that.

As mentioned above, there was a child who liked to watch people play cards and chess, and he knew a lot of words. However, parents said that when their children go to primary school in the future, they may need to switch to reading if they don't want their children to watch this.

At the very least, it shows that the child is happy and relaxed during kindergarten, and he learns words according to his own preferences, rather than being forced to read and write.

There are also children who like to watch cartoons, which have subtitles, and the child is a caring person, and pays attention to the correspondence between the plot and the subtitles, not only knowing a lot of words, but also knowing the meaning of the text.

It is also very powerful to be able to do this, many children watch cartoons just to watch the excitement, do not want to use their brains, do not know that others use it to learn! Every child is different, just give full play to the child's own advantages.

The master is in the folk, and I believe there are some other interesting activities. Children are using a self-consistent way to recognize words, they are all active rather than passive, and there is no problem of pulling out seedlings to help grow.

Isn't preschool literacy a way to learn ahead of time and pull out the seedlings to help them grow?

Write at the end: I often see people say that children can read and write before they go to primary school, which means learning ahead of time and pulling out seedlings to help them grow? In fact, there is a misunderstanding of children's literacy. Wouldn't it be better for children to have literacy needs, no need to limit them, follow the trend, children are happy, read more, have long knowledge, and can better adapt to primary school life?
