SenseTime and F1 became associated with 2022, the year SenseTime reached a technical cooperation with Zhou Guanyu's team, KICK Sauber F1 Team (formerly Alfa Romeo F1 Team ORLEN), and Zhou Guanyu became the first Chinese driver to break into F1. Over the past three years, SenseTime's AI technology has been helping teams optimize their decision-making processes and race strategies to improve their performance.
In a competitive sports arena that once belonged to foreign drivers, Chinese drivers appeared for the first time, and Chinese technology brands began to appear. Xu Li said in the conversation: "At that time, we learned that China's first driver entered F1, and when Zhou Guanyu made his debut, the Chinese logo of SenseTime was already printed on the body. Just like when SenseTime went to sea, many people thought that square words and technology may not be linked, but now, we have changed the public's perception with the efforts of a generation, and square words can also represent high technology. ”
What was printed on Zhou Guanyu's racing car this year was a special edition logo of SenseTime - SenseTime X.O. X.O. is the abbreviation of Professor Tang Xiaoou, the founder of SenseTime and a computer scientist, implying that SenseTime will not forget its original intention, adhere to originality, and let AI lead human progress. In the early days, the DeepID face recognition algorithm proposed by SenseTime exceeded the accuracy rate of global eye recognition for the first time. Before the large-scale model computing power storm hit, SenseTime established one of Asia's largest supercomputing centers in Shanghai. Since the release of the "RiRixin" large model in April 2023, SenseTime has evolved at a rate of iterating one version from February to March, and its 4.0 version of the general version of the Shangshang large language model has surpassed GPT-3.5 in comprehensive evaluation results.
The digital human "Xiao Zhou" was born

In addition to the AI solution for F1 races, SenseTime will also produce a digital human "Xiao Zhou" for Zhou Guanyu, who will replace Zhou Guanyu to conduct F1 science popularization, event commentary, and interact with fans.

In April this year, SenseTime's "RiRixin" large model will release a blockbuster update. At that time, the performance of SenseTime's new large model is expected to surpass GPT-4 in an all-round way.
Xu Li recalled that when he first started his business 10 years ago, SenseTime said that it wanted to be a world leader in the field of visual perception, and there were many voices of doubt. However, China's biggest advantage lies in the huge scene dividend, and after superimposing this advantage, Chinese enterprises have come to the forefront of the world in the era of perceptual intelligence or intelligence 1.0, and each enterprise has also stepped out of its own characteristics in the vertical field.
Now in the era of generative AI, Xu Li believes that China's advantage is still the scenario, and Chinese companies should take a completely different route in the vertical field. "What people call the 'ChatGPT moment' these days, not the 'GPT moment'. Because GPT is a technical route, but what makes it a household name is because there is a Chat in front of it, which is a chat application. There is no shortage of application scenarios in China. The superimposed application of each technology can truly bring about a moment of industrialization and revolutionization, which is also an opportunity for us in China. ”
AI+ sports is considered by SenseTime to be a major potential direction for the development of large models.
By capturing the three-dimensional coordinates of people and balls in space, the camera can automatically follow, generate players' personal video highlights in the live broadcast of the game, capture highlight moments, and analyze the action characteristics of different sports states to provide players with more detailed data statistics, so as to improve basketball skills.
In the table tennis competition, SenseTime uses 3D motion capture technology and AR special effects rendering engine to realize the data collection and visual broadcast of table tennis events. Not only can you see the trajectory and landing point of the table tennis ball, but you can also visualize the speed and direction of rotation of the ball.
