In order to improve the ability to prevent and control infectious diseases and common diseases among students in primary and secondary schools and nursery institutions in the district, and standardize the development of school health work, on April 10, the Health Office of Huangbohai New District and the Education Branch of the District organized the 2024 School Health Work Conference. More than 200 people attended the meeting, including the relevant persons in charge of the District Education Bureau, the District Health Office, and the District Center for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as principals (principals), school doctors, and health teachers in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the district.
The meeting summarized the achievements and shortcomings of school health work in 2023. The meeting pointed out that with the close cooperation of the education and health departments, in 2023, the monitoring and intervention of common diseases and health influencing factors of students, the establishment of nutrition and health schools, the prevention and control of infectious diseases in schools, and the detection and filling of gaps in vaccines were successfully completed. The meeting analyzed the monitoring of common diseases of students in the whole district, the prevention and control of infectious diseases in schools, etc., and pointed out the problems in myopia, obesity, abnormal spinal curvature, and the reporting and handling of infectious diseases among primary and secondary school students.
The meeting required that all schools should strictly implement various work systems for school health, comprehensively promote six major activities such as "Health Month for Primary and Secondary School Students", "Healthy Parents" and "Care for Key Groups", and continue to do a good job in the special improvement of "Desks and Chairs Compliance Rate". It is necessary to actively carry out the establishment of nutrition and health schools and canteens, and implement various measures for the prevention and control of foodborne diseases and nutrition and health. It is necessary to do a solid job in morning and afternoon inspections, registration and tracking of absenteeism due to illness, ventilation and disinfection, etc., and do a good job of reporting and handling infectious diseases in schools in a timely and standardized manner. It is necessary to carry out the inspection of vaccination certificates in strict accordance with the norms, increase the vaccination rate, and build a solid immune barrier for students.
In the next step, Huangbohai New Area will take this meeting as an opportunity to further standardize school health work, strengthen the monitoring and intervention of students' common diseases and health influencing factors, improve the school's ability to respond to infectious diseases and public health emergencies, and escort the health of teachers and students in the district.
