On April 12th, the 8th National Primary and Secondary School Students' Art Exhibition and Performance Activities, Shanghai Yangpu District, Shanghai Live Folk Music Special Performance and Mentor Group Appointment Ceremony was held in Yangpu District Children's Palace Dream Theater. The event strengthened the exchanges and cooperation between schools and promoted the sustainable development of folk music education.
Yangpu District Children's Palace is not only a "paradise" for students in the area after school, but also another "home" for children. Every weekend, nearly 10,000 students in the area gather here, and more than 30 wonderful art courses and activities are available for them to choose from. In the middle of the week, when the students are busy with their studies, the art teachers of the District Children's Palace will go to the primary and secondary schools in the area to cultivate the "aesthetic education soil" in the campus.
At this exhibition, the Chinese Orchestra of Yangpu District Jianshe Primary School, the Chinese Orchestra of the Second Affiliated School of Fudan University, the Experimental School Folk Orchestra of Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Chinese Orchestra of Shanghai Yangpu Senior High School presented the fruitful achievements of folk music education in Yangpu District schools with their own wonderful performances.
The children of Jianshe Primary School in Yangpu District wore colorful costumes and held national musical instruments to play the folk music "Harvest Love", vividly depicting a picture of working people singing about the harvest. The performance of "Picking the Mountain" by the Second Affiliated School of Fudan University is impassioned, presenting the profound emotional connotation and majestic momentum of the music, and showing the hard work and optimistic life spirit of the working people.
The Experimental School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music brought a song "Praise of the Red Boat". With a passionate melody, the work tells the greatness and nobility of the "Red Boat Spirit", expressing the reverence for the revolutionary martyrs and the yearning for a better future. The students' performances were melodious or sonorous, demonstrating their solid musical skills and good artistic accomplishment. The "Letter and Thought" performed by Shanghai Yangpu Senior High School used music to write a letter to the revolutionary ancestors, lamenting the hard-won success of the era of peace.
Professor Wang Jianmin and renowned composer Mr. Gu Guanren from Shanghai Conservatory of Music highly praised the students' performance level and the professionalism of the Yangpu folk music teaching team. The two professors encouraged the folk music teachers to continue to explore and innovate, bring more excellent folk music works, and make greater contributions to the promotion and inheritance of Chinese folk music culture.
It is understood that the District Children's Palace Folk Orchestra has been adopting the "pyramid" rolling training model, which is divided into four levels of ABCD according to the age and performance level of the students. At the same time, experts and professors of folk music are invited to jointly incubate the growth of the school's Chinese orchestra and bring valuable artistic guidance to all teachers and students of the Chinese orchestra.
At the end of the event, letters of appointment were issued to the expert representatives of the Yangpu District Folk Music Characteristic Education Teaching Expert Tutor Group, marking that the folk music industry in Yangpu District will usher in new development opportunities and broader prospects. In recent years, Yangpu has infiltrated students, teachers and schools with aesthetic education, and built an aesthetic education environment for everyone at all times, everywhere.
