In the satisfaction of one bite at a time, they looked at each other and smiled, and the baton of struggle was handed over.
Struggle is the background color of the people of the mountain city, and thousands of ordinary people are promoting the great changes in the city in such a handover day and night.
On the occasion of Labor Day, we interviewed three strivers from different industries, and perhaps they also have the shadow of you and me.

Marine police Xu Yuanji: "My work is like looking for a grain of sand in the mountains"
No matter what time it is, the Liziba viewing platform is full of lively people. There is an endless stream of tourists coming and going from the south to the north, and the Jialing River, which turns back and forth, tells the poetry of a thousand years behind it.
Across the road, in addition to the "check-in point" track Liziba Station, there is also the Criminal Science and Technology Office of the Water Police Corps of the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau.
"May Day" Labor Day is approaching, which also means that the peak period of marine police work is coming, and every summer, rapids, rocky riverbanks, and muddy riversides are all places with high incidence of crimes. When the highest temperature was more than 40 degrees, a pair of leather shoes walked on the river beach for more than 40 minutes, and the soles cracked.
Xu Yuanji, a police officer, is a trace technical police officer here, responsible for the investigation of various criminal crime scenes. This is an important part of criminal investigation work, which uses specialized technology to inquest, analyze, and identify various traces left by people or things related to criminal cases, so as to provide a scientific basis and investigation direction for solving cases.
"It's like looking for a grain of sand in the mountains. Once there is a scene, Xu Yuanji must arrive at the scene of the crime as soon as possible to conduct on-site investigation and extract trace evidence, because the scene in the jurisdiction of the water area is affected by factors such as weather, water level changes and water flow impact, and the evidence left at the scene may disappear.
In the first half of 1997, due to the shortage of criminal technical personnel of the Marine Police, Xu Yuanji, then a police officer of the Chaotianmen Police Station, was recommended to the Criminal Science and Technology Office of the Marine Police Corps of the Municipal Public Security Bureau because of his strong sense of responsibility and patience and meticulousness, and was responsible for the on-site investigation and trace identification of criminal cases and major impact events in the two rivers and four banks of the two rivers and four banks and more than 200 kilometers of water in the central urban area of Chongqing.
After half a year of professional training, Xu Yuanji officially took up his post. plus him and forensic doctor Chen Xizheng, the entire forensic science and technology room, there are only two people.
The first case came quickly. On January 16, 1998, a corpse was found in the eagle's beak rock by the Jialing River in Beibei.
"Actually, the situation at the scene is not very good, and it is not certain that it is the first scene. Xu Yuanji recalled the tension and difficulties at that time, the body was under a 20-meter-high slope with an inclination of more than 70 degrees in the eagle's beak rock, and it was difficult to go down by manpower, let alone collect evidence on the spot, "Later, we came up with a way, which was to find a crane and lift me down." ”
With a camera and a survey box, Xu Yuanji leaned on a rope and opened the first investigation and evidence collection led by him between the cliffs.
After investigation, the case was characterized as a homicide, and subsequently, the identity of the deceased was confirmed as a driver in Hechuan, and the possibility of robbery and homicide could not be ruled out.
Evidence is needed to solve a case. The first thing to find is the car that the deceased drove before his death. Crime scenes, second-hand markets, vehicle repair shops...... Xu Yuanji and other criminal investigation police officers did not want to give up every possibility, and the vehicle was eventually intercepted when the DMV tried to transfer ownership, and the case was solved.
Now, 27 years have passed, the number of police officers in the Criminal Science and Technology Office of the Marine Police Corps of the Municipal Public Security Bureau has increased from two to eight, and Xu Yuanji has also changed from a young "criminal technology novice" to a "technical backbone", and is the first batch of criminal investigation experts in criminal technology of the Municipal Public Security Bureau. The only thing that remains unchanged is that Xu Yuanji is always as rigorous and serious as he was when he first investigated and collected evidence.
"Because it's so important, for us, it's a job, but for one or even several families involved in the case, it's the truth they're looking for, and if something goes wrong, it's irreparable. Having dealt with all kinds of scenes for half his life, Xu Yuanji knows the importance of his work, and there may be difficulties and obstacles in the middle, but he must also cross that mountain.
A few years ago, a corpse was found by the Huangshaxi River in Yuzhong District, and after on-site investigation, it was determined that the scene was the scene of the body dumping. After investigation, the first scene was more than 40 kilometers away from the scene of the dumping of the body, and the deceased was a woman from Banan District.
Through the investigation of social relations, the police identified the major suspect, but this person has always denied it. Due to the lack of key evidence, after 24 hours, the police will no longer be able to detain the suspect.
The case was at an impasse for a while, but Xu Yuanji was not intimidated by the difficulties in front of him, and he always firmly believed that any crime would leave clues, and traces would speak.
With the search warrant, Xu Yuanji and his colleagues came to the suspect's house, and finally found a little blood on the heel of the leather shoes, and his heart was half relieved, and then he found important evidence the size of a grain of rice on the kitchen mat, which was suspected to be human muscle tissue.
Regardless of the excitement and the urgency of time, Xu Yuanji hurriedly returned to the laboratory with the physical evidence to compare and confirm that the muscle tissue and blood stains were consistent with the victim. The evidence was overwhelming, and the suspect finally pleaded guilty.
In Xu Yuanji's view, there are many fewer criminal cases in the jurisdiction than when he first entered the industry. He smiled and said that this is a good thing, it proves that our country is getting safer and safer, and the people's legal awareness is getting stronger and stronger, and I hope that one day there will be fewer and fewer places to use me.

Zeng Zhen, a rehabilitation physician: "If you like children, children will like you"
There are many picture books on the shelves, and 12-year-old Long Long (pseudonym) sits on a small stool in the sensory integration training room of Love Manor, with his head down, and he doesn't like to take care of people.
Until Zeng Zhen opened the album, this one, it is about how children identify their facial features, "Let's take a look, where is the nose?" Long Long finally raised his head, looked at the album, his big eyes turned around in the training room, and finally his fingers stayed on Zeng Zhen's nose.
In June 2011, Zeng Zhen came to Chongqing Aixin Manor and became one of the rehabilitation physicians, responsible for the rehabilitation of orphans with moderate to severe disabilities.
Most of the children in the rehabilitation group have multiple disabilities and have motor, intellectual, language, and social disabilities. What Zeng Zhen needs to do is to work with her colleagues to teach them to walk and speak through systematic assessment and scientific training, which will also help the more seriously ill children relieve their pain and let them spend the rest of their lives with quality.
At 7 o'clock in the morning, it is Zeng Zhen's alarm clock time. It takes 40 minutes to take the bus from home to the Love Manor, and occasionally I will meet primary school students who carry school bags to school, looking at them, Zeng Zhen will occasionally think of the children in the Love Manor. In the past ten years, with the help of her and her colleagues, many disabled children in the Love Manor have successfully entered special education classes and even ordinary primary schools to study, and gradually integrated into society.
"There will be more and more in the future. Thinking of this scene, Zeng Zhen smiled happily.
When she first started working as a rehabilitation physician for children with special needs, Zeng Zhen was not as comfortable as she is now. Children are very sensitive, some children do not express themselves and will let out a sharp howl when they are angry, and some children cannot understand instructions and refuse to communicate.
Zeng Zhen had imagined this predicament, and she thought of making games. Play is a child's language, and Zeng Zhen slowly builds a connection with the child through a gamified therapeutic environment and training methods.
The effect of this is very significant, for example, children with language difficulties, after patient guidance, from not daring to say anything, to slowly expressing their own demands, "I don't like this", "help me open the lid" and so on.
Day after day, the children of Love Manor began to rely on this kind of teacher.
Long Long came to the Love Manor when he was more than a year old, when he was curled up, unable to stretch like a small shrimp, and accompanied by cognitive impairment. Since last year, Zeng Zhen's rehabilitation group began to do rehabilitation training for Long Long.
The training is very hard, and Long Long sometimes refuses to cooperate, at this time, Zeng Zhen will come forward, gently hug him, or shake his hand, and wait for Long Long to calm down, and then continue the next training.
"Do you know who Teacher Zeng is?" Long Long didn't like to deal with strangers, but he still nodded. "Then do you like Teacher Zeng?" Long Long moved his body and whispered, "I like it." "Why do you like it?" Long Long was a little impatient with three questions in a row, he raised his head and said, "There is no why, because Teacher Zeng likes me, so I like her." ”
Many children in the Love Manor are like this, they may not understand why Teacher Zeng leads them to train day by day, but they can intuitively feel the love and kindness. Whoever likes them, they like them, is the constant law of children, and the same is true for special children.
Today, Long Long has undergone rehabilitation training and can not only walk normally, but also increase his speech intelligibility from 30% to 70%.
Speaking of the meaning of work, Zeng Zhen thought about it and said that it was with their efforts that some special children could return to society.
And this is also the wish of all rehabilitation physicians and therapists in Love Manor. Zeng Zhen firmly believes that in the future, more and more children will find their "wings", run freely, and talk to the world.

Forest ranger Liu Chuntao: "For 66 years, three generations of our family have guarded this piece of green mountain"
On April 25, in Wulong's Baima Mountain Nature Reserve, just after days of rain, the muddy trails in the mountains were still wet and slippery, forest ranger Liu Chuntao and his colleagues walked into the forest with wooden sticks and started their day's work.
For 32 years, he patrolled the forest every day along the trail, checking for illegal logging, fire hazards or unusual wildlife activity.
"It's slippery here, be careful. Noticing that the reporter was having a slight difficulty walking, Liu Chuntao stopped and stretched out his arm to help.
"Our daily duty is to patrol the mountains and forests, and now it is much easier than before, and there used to be more than a dozen pairs of rubber shoes that were rotten every year. Liu Chuntao recalls that when he first came to work in the forest farm in the early 90s of the 20th century, he relied entirely on hiking to patrol the mountains, and he needed to walk 20 or 30 kilometers a day. The longest journey takes 2 to 3 days to come back.
Now, the White Horse Mountain Forest Farm has adopted a combination of motorcycles and pickup trucks to realize the organic combination of vehicle patrol and foot patrol.
"That's not all, we still have cameras and drones, and we can see the whole forest in the monitoring room. Zuo Xiaolong, a colleague who patrols the mountains with Liu Chuntao, added that this has made their work as a forest ranger a great convenience.
With the approach of May Day, the forest fire prevention work in spring has entered a critical period. Liu Chuntao and his colleagues were more vigilant, carefully scanning every tree and every corner for any possible fire hazards.
During the holidays, many citizens go to the mountains to play, and the possibility of fires also increases. The work of forest rangers is not lightened by the holiday, but they need to redouble their efforts during this critical period to protect forest resources and public safety.
"It's not bitter at all, I'm used to it. Liu Chuntao said happily, "Our job is to protect the green trees and birdsong here." ”
The Baima Mountain Forest Area is located on the eastern edge of Chongqing, bordering Daozhen County of Guizhou Province to the south and Nanchuan District of Chongqing City to the west. The hills here are undulating, the mountains are dangerous, and the mountains are covered with forests, which hide a variety of precious animals and plants.
"This is the cedar, that's the rhododendron, and the silver fir over there, the treasure of our White Horse Mountain......" Walking on the forest path, Liu Chuntao did not say much, but when the reporter asked about the various plants in the forest, he gushed about them.
Over the past 32 years, Liu Chuntao has traveled to every corner of the Baima Mountain forest area, whether it is a variety of tree species, forest area or forest age distribution, he knows it well.
Liu Chuntao is a veritable "third generation of Lin" and a native of Baima.
When the Baima Mountain Forest Farm was established in 1958, Liu Chuntao's grandmother became the first generation of forest rangers here. Liu Chuntao's father and aunt also joined the ranger sequence at the age of 15.
Liu Chuntao, who was born and raised in the forest farm, has followed in the footsteps of his grandmother and father since he was 18 years old and stepped into the journey of protecting the Baima Mountain Forest Farm.
In the blink of an eye, thirty-two spring and autumn reincarnations, the former young man gradually matured in the four seasons of White Horse Mountain, the years carved traces on his face, and he has grown into the husband and father of the family.
Although he spends most of his time in the mountains, Liu Chuntao never complains, because this forest farm is not only the mountains and forests of his hometown, but also the homeland that his elders have guarded for many years.
"I have an affection for this forest, and I feel uncomfortable when I don't walk in the mountains every day. Liu Chuntao often said this.
