In the face of the increasingly severe drought, Shiping County has taken multiple measures to sound the battle horn of "water conservation" and take practical actions to create a good atmosphere for the whole society to save water, love water and protect water.
Cultivating good habits of water conservation is inseparable from constant publicity and education. Recently, in the classroom of Class 15 of Shiping Senior High School, the teacher explained to the students the importance of water resources and how to save water and other related knowledge, so as to further enhance the students' awareness of water conservation.
Chen Rong, a student at Shiping Senior High School, said: "Water is an important resource for our human life, we should make good use of every drop of water, turn off the faucet in time after washing our hands, so as to achieve multi-purpose water and protect our water resources." ”
At the same time, the school combines the actual situation to effectively reduce the water consumption of the campus and improve the utilization rate of rainwater by scientifically transforming the water facilities and establishing a rainwater collection system, so as to achieve the purpose of water conservation.
Li Fabao, director of the general affairs office of Shek Ping Senior High School, said: "We have changed the original water-flushing handwashing station to the current drip and sensor type to maximize water saving. The school has also invested in the renovation of the network facilities for the soccer and basketball fields, and the rainwater is collected, sedimented, filtered and reused for watering flowers and flushing toilets. ”
Recently, in the major reservoirs in Shiping County, the staff of the reservoir guard have been running back and forth in the reservoir area to increase daily patrol efforts, monitor the water storage of the reservoir in real time, and achieve scientific management of water resources. The continuous high temperature weather has also caused the water storage of the county's reservoirs to drop significantly, and the water storage of the three medium-sized reservoirs of Huangcaoba, Abaichong and Gaochong has decreased by one-third by nearly 10 million cubic meters compared with the same period last year.
According to Li Weihao, director of the Gaochong Reservoir Management Institute in Shiping County, in view of the current actual situation, the current method is to use surface water first and then use groundwater, first ensure domestic water and then guarantee production water, and at the same time limit and publicize water for large water users, so as to save water for all people.
Shiping County has actively carried out the pilot work of reclaimed water utilization and allocation, organized and implemented a number of high-standard farmland construction projects in the southern mountain area of Yilong Lake, and built an area of 10,600 mu of high-efficiency water-saving irrigation; and organized and implemented the comprehensive water environment improvement project (Phase II) of the drainage and irrigation canal from Mabaolong to Qingyuwan in Shiping County, using the tail water of Mabaolong Sewage Treatment Plant to irrigate 22,800 mu of bayberry and crops in the southern mountainous area of Yilong Lake through the pumping station, so as to maximize the utilization rate of tailwater.
In order to create a good atmosphere for everyone in the whole society to participate in water conservation, Shiping County organized staff and young volunteers to go deep into communities, enterprises, schools and villages to popularize water laws and regulations such as the Water Law of the People's Republic of China, the Regulations on Groundwater Management, and the Code of Conduct for Citizens' Water Conservation to the broad masses of the people, and called on the masses to establish the concept of water conservation, master the methods of water conservation, develop water-saving habits, promote the virtues of water conservation, and participate in the practice of water conservation, so that cherishing, caring for and saving water has become everyone's action consciousness.
