[House of Watches & Watches Geneva 2024 "Watches and Wonders"] When we talk about Haute Horlogerie, we often think of complications and craftsmanship, and at this year's Watches & Wonders Geneva Haute Horlogerie, Patek Philippe set an excellent example with a Ref.5160/500R-001 perpetual calendar watch.

The new watch is a sequel to the Ref.5160/500G-001 in white gold released in 2016, and the classic design has been retained, with the most notable changes being the case material and the built-in movement.
The new model has a diameter of 38 mm and a thickness of 11.81 mm. The official case is crafted from rose gold, with a sapphire crystal and a sapphire crystal case with a shoulder hinged dust cap, and is water-resistant to 30 meters.
Inspired by a pocket watch in the museum's collection, Patek Philippe has hand-engraved the case, dial, bezel, lugs, dust cap, crown and strap screws. The intricately carved vines and foliage motifs exude a sense of luxury and showcasing Patek Philippe's centuries-old savoir-faire.
The 18-carat gold dial is silvery-white with a fine engraved texture in the center. The pear-shaped hands are combined with black gold applied Breguet numerals to indicate the time of day, giving it a vintage look and a glamorous feel. The month and day windows are symmetrically arranged at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, while the moon phases and leap year cycle are indicated at 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock.
The moon phase mechanism is so precise that it accumulates only one day of error every 122 years. The central hand with the red arrow has an automatic return mechanism that can be rotated up to 270 degrees and then returns to the first day of the following month. During the reset process, the date hand detaches from the gear train and immediately returns to the 1st position, so that the hand does not "pop" back for one or two days.
Lift the shoulder-hinged dust cover to reveal the built-in automatic calibre 26-330 S QR (previously 2016 with the 324 S QR calibre). Assembled from 368 parts, just 5.36 mm thick, with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) and a 21-carat gold oscillating weight, it offers a power reserve of up to 45 hours.
Patek Philippe Ref. The 5160/500R-001 Perpetual Calendar comes with an antique brown alligator strap with square scales and a pink gold folding clasp with the Patek Philippe logo on the dust cover and the Calatrava cross on the clasp.
