Liu Yuxi in the Tang Dynasty has a poem that says, "The peony demon in front of the court is unqualified, and the hibiscus on the pond is pure and affectionate." Only the peony is true to the national color, and the flowers move the capital when they bloom. "Walking in the peony garden of Tianmen Mountain, Gangu County, the fragrance of flowers is like a shadow. The peony flowers of different shapes and colors are graceful, some are dignified and elegant, and some are generous. One by one, the petals overlap, one by one, colorful, spread out, everywhere is a beautiful and intoxicating picture.
And the most famous are the two thousand-year-old purple-spotted peonies in the temple, which have endured for thousands of years from the Song Dynasty to the present. When the flowers bloom here, the petals are white and crystalline, the stamen is like gold dust flying, the bottom of the flower is blood-colored red, the fragrance is compelling, the bee butterfly flowers are playing, flying up and down, tourists from all over the world are bustling, competing to take a group photo.
According to historical data, the Dongyue Temple on the top of Gangu Tianmen Mountain, built in the Qin and Han dynasties on the first mountain, rebuilt in the Tiansheng period of Song Renzong (1023-1031 AD), two peonies in the temple courtyard, planted in the Northern Song Dynasty Renzong period, about 1000 years ago, are precious cultural relics and trees. There are many poets in the past dynasties, leaving behind many swan songs and famous sentences that have been sung through the ages. Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty "Fuqiang County Chronicles" art and literature volume, Huaihai Xujin's "Fuqiang Miscellaneous Records" poem with "lust for the heavenly fairy, red to peony makeup" sang the peony in full bloom at that time.
