At the WTT Youth Stars Challenge in Putogorica, Montenegro, 16-year-old national youth player and chipper Sun Yang participated in the men's singles competition in the 19-year-old group and finally won the men's singles championship, beating Chinese Taipei 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 11-6), and 15-year-old Li Hechen lost 1-3 to a Spanish player in the semi-finals.
Lee Hechen, who missed out on the final at the age of 15, partnered with Yao Ruixuan to win the mixed doubles title by beating a Korean mixed doubles pair 3-1 in the mixed doubles final, while Japan won the men's singles and men's doubles titles at the age of 15. Chinese Taipei's men's doubles pair won the men's doubles title in the 19-year-old group, while the multinational pair of Spain and Uzbekistan won the mixed doubles title in the 19-year-old group.
Yang Huize, Zhao Wangqi and Xu Shuqian, who participated in the 19-year-old group of women's singles, all made it to the quarterfinals and will face off in a quarter today. Only 14-year-old Yang Hye-taek participated in the 19-year-old women's singles competition, and her biggest opponent was South Korea's 16-year-old prodigy Park Geun-hye, hoping that Yang Hye-taek can reach the final against Park Geun-hye. Park Geun-hye, who won the women's singles title in one of the feeder tournaments, could overtake Shin Yu-bin's potential.
