On April 12, according to Thai media news, personnel from Thailand's Central Bureau of Investigation (CIB) and the action team of relevant departments went to six entertainment service venues (karaoke halls) in Bangkok's Tinden, Brilliant, Mankelyan, and Bang Kun Tian districts last night to conduct raids and searches, and arrested a large number of illegal foreigners.
As for the operation, it was due to the fact that investigators found that there were young women dressed up in sexy places in the above-mentioned area to solicit customers in an improper manner, and believed that there may be a possibility of illegal sexual services. As a result, the relevant authorities coordinated and went to investigate and carried out the above-mentioned arrests.
A total of six Thai employers and 37 foreigners were arrested, including 26 Laotians, four Burmese, one Cambodian, five Shan and one Karen national. Subsequently, the police will prosecute the above-mentioned persons separately according to the crimes of illegal employment of foreigners and illegal work of foreigners in Thailand.
