Conference registration postponed|Plant Calcium Signaling
July 1, 2024 - July 4, 2024 Lisbon, Portugal
Plants rely heavily on calcium signaling for many critical physiological and developmental processes. Among them, calcium signaling is central to biotic/abiotic stress signaling, host-pathogen interactions, or symbiotic mycorrhizalization and nodulation. Calcium signaling also touches on all aspects of stress and adaptation to climate change, translating a deep understanding of its mechanistic underpinnings into a compelling and urgent goal.
Over the past few decades, the field of calcium signaling in plants has matured with the discovery and functional characterization of multiple new channels and decoded protein families, as well as new functional paradigms for their roles in plants. Many of these proteins and functions evolved specifically along plant lineages and cannot be inferred from animals.
With this symposium, we aim to consolidate a strong network of international collaborations in the field, offering plenty of opportunities for young and mid-career scientists to present their work with renowned researchers in an excellent venue in the city of Lisbon. Scientific sessions will cover all aspects from the atomic and structural aspects of protein function to biological or host pathogen responses during development.
