The girl was abducted at the age of 4 and recognized her parents 15 years later
16 years ago, her 4-year-old daughter Cai Jialing was abducted by a woman in Longdong Donglian Shopping Mall, Longgang District, Shenzhen.
Cai Xingquan vividly remembers that the day his daughter was abducted was June 27, 2008, it was raining in Shenzhen, he was resting in a shop, and his wife was at home. 4-year-old Cai Jialing went to the shopping mall opposite the shop alone to play with her friends. Surveillance footage at the time showed that a middle-aged woman snatched her umbrella, and Cai Jialing was taken out of the mall by the woman in the process of chasing the umbrella.
Since then, Cai Xingquan has embarked on a long road to find his daughter, until March 2023, the Guangdong police successfully matched Cai Jialing, who lives and studies in Guang'an, Sichuan, through DNA comparison and other technologies, and recognized his biological daughter on March 20.
Cai Xingquan told reporters that on March 18, 2023, the police collected blood from a child in Guang'an, Sichuan, based on clues. At about 10:30 that night, he received a call from an unfamiliar number, the other party was a young man, saying "Your daughter is my sister".
Cai Xingquan, who has met too many liars, hung up the phone directly. 30 minutes later, the number called again, and Cai Xingquan took it.
In this call, the guy said that Cai Jialing was picked up from Shenzhen by his mother Zhang Moumou, and told him about the process of taking Cai Jialing away. According to the details told by the other party, Cai Xingquan confirmed that the "sister" mentioned by the young man was undoubtedly his daughter. He later learned that his daughter was taken back to his hometown in Guang'an, Sichuan by Zhang Moujun to be raised by the elderly.
On the evening of March 20, 2023, Cai Xingquan and his family finally recognized their daughter Cai Jialing, who had been abducted for 15 years.
The suspect was prosecuted for abduction
On April 10, 2024, the reporter learned from Cai Xingquan that the case of Zhang Moujun's suspected child abduction will be tried in Shenzhen Longgang District Court on April 11.
The reporter noted that the case was originally scheduled to be heard at the Longgang District Court in Shenzhen on September 25 last year. In this regard, Cai Xingquan said that after recognizing his daughter, Cai Jialing signed a letter of understanding at the request of Zhang Moujun's son. In August last year, Cai Jialing submitted a statement to the court, denying the previously signed letter of understanding and hoping that the court would "deal with the punishment normally in accordance with the law." As a result, the trial scheduled for 25 September was postponed.
Cai Xingquan said that his daughter did not sign the letter of understanding voluntarily.
"He (Zhang Moujun's son) was talking in that powerful tone when he was looking for Jialing, and he didn't admit his mistake at all, and always condemned Jialing and said that she didn't know how to repay her, and she raised you for 15 years and then bit them. ”
According to the indictment made by the Longgang District Procuratorate of Shenzhen, Zhang Moujun was born in 1973, his household registration is Wusheng County, Guang'an City, Sichuan, and he has a primary school education, and was detained by the police in March 2023. The Longgang District Procuratorate ascertained in accordance with the law that at about 16 o'clock on June 27, 2008, Zhang Moujun saw Cai Moumou (referring to Cai Jialing) playing alone at the gate of the Donglian Shopping Plaza of the Longdong Neighborhood Committee of the Longgang Sub-district Office, so he used candy as bait to abduct Cai Moumou and take him back to his hometown in Sichuan to raise him. On March 19, 2023, Zhang Moujun went to the local police station for investigation.
The Longgang District Procuratorate believes that Zhang Moujun abducted children, the facts of the crime are clear, the evidence is credible and sufficient, and he should be investigated for criminal responsibility for the crime of abducting children. Zhang Moujun voluntarily surrendered after committing a crime, admitting guilt and accepting punishment, and may be given a lighter or commuted punishment in accordance with law.
Regarding Zhang Moujun's "voluntary surrender", Cai Xingquan said that Zhang Moujun surrendered only after the police came to collect blood, which constituted an element of voluntary surrender in a legal sense, but he still couldn't accept it from the bottom of his heart, and hoped that Zhang Moujun could be severely punished by the law.
At the same time, Cai Xingquan said that he filed a civil lawsuit attached to the criminal case this time, claiming more than 1.8 million yuan from Zhang Moujun for accommodation expenses, transportation expenses, lost work expenses, mental damages, and material costs.
