According to Thai media news, on April 9, Thai Prime Minister and Finance Minister Saita posted through his personal social account that the Myanmar issue is very important to Thailand, and the research and attention to the Myanmar issue is for peace and stability, as well as for the interests of the two peoples.
Saita said that in view of this, an emergency meeting was held with relevant departments and agencies on the border issue of Myanmar that morning, and preparations were made to coordinate and promote cooperation between all parties to restore peace and stability in Myanmar as soon as possible. At the same time, Thailand will also provide humanitarian assistance to the affected people and be prepared to respond to all possible situations, including border trade.
He added that in order to work more efficiently, a working group will be set up under the responsibility of the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will also be joined by the secretary general of the Office of the National Security Council of Thailand. According to Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ban Pi, the Burmese plane's request to land in Thailand is not to transport weapons or armed personnel, and Thailand has remained neutral as always, and has also confirmed that it has not "lured wolves into the house". In response, Thailand is also preparing to build a relief centre that will be able to assist 100,000 people.
