A few days ago, supported by the Calligraphy and Painting Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the Chinese Artists Association, the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and the Foshan Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and sponsored by Hanrong Book Co., Ltd., the "3rd Dr. Shi Jingyi Cup Chinese Calligraphy and Painting Creation Competition Award Ceremony and Winning Works Tour Exhibition" opened in Foshan City. More than 300 calligraphers, painters and art lovers at home and abroad gathered together to exchange and mingle with calligraphy and painting as a medium.
Zhang Jiaji, member of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and vice chairman of the Guangdong Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Li Chong'an, former vice chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League, Qin Zhigang, deputy director of the calligraphy and painting office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and former vice chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Wang Laiwen, vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association and full-time vice chairman of the Fujian Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Rong Tie, chairman of the Seal Collection and Research Committee of the China Collectors Association, deputy director of the Central Cultural Committee of the Democratic League, and deputy director of the Department of Culture of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Vice Chairman Mai Jiehua, Shi Jingyi, Liu Ziying and his wife Shi Hanji, permanent director of Foshan City Culture and Art Museum, and other leaders and guests cut the ribbon and unveiled the touring exhibition, and presented awards to the winners.
Mr. Shek King-yee is a native of Nanhai, Guangdong, and the founder of Hon Wing Book Company in Hong Kong. He was enthusiastic about promoting the dissemination and development of excellent traditional Chinese culture all his life, serving the country with books and making connections with paintings, donating more than 500,000 books to the mainland, and making great contributions to cultural and artistic exchanges between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and other places. In order to continue his legacy, Hong Kong Han Rong Book Company and other units have planned and held two Chinese calligraphy and painting creation competitions in 2010 and 2015, which have received enthusiastic support from friends in the art world and achieved good social repercussions.
This year's competition lasted for four years, and the participating calligraphy and painting enthusiasts came from all over the world, in addition to the mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, there were also overseas authors from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Canada and other countries. From drooping toddlers to the elderly, their love for Chinese calligraphy and painting from all over the world is really touching! The competition received a total of 3,726 calligraphy works and 2,030 ink paintings. After the preliminary selection and final evaluation, the winning works were finally selected, among which 1 Diamond Award, 2 Gold Awards, 3 Silver Awards, 5 Bronze Awards, 32 Merit Awards, and more than 120 Excellence Awards were awarded for ink and calligraphy works.
"This competition has collected calligraphy and painting works from Chinese people all over the world, and I feel that the art of the Chinese nation is endless and positive. Rong Tie said that this not only strengthens the exchange and integration of Chinese culture, but also makes our culture more identifiable, and our nation is more united and upward.
Jin De'an, former deputy director of the Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association, Liao Xun, former deputy director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Hong Kong, Liang Jiang, former deputy director of the National Art Museum of China, Sun Yigang, former deputy director of the National Library of China, Wang Yong, former second-level inspector of the Guangdong Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Zhang Huaqing, chairman of the China Hard Pen Calligraphy Association, attended the event.
It is understood that the winning works are located in two exhibition halls. Among them, the works of the ink painting group will be exhibited at the Shi Jingyi Art Museum until April 9, and the works of the calligraphy group will be on display at the Dr. Shi Jingyi Museum until April 14. The organizer said that after the end of the touring exhibition of the winning works (Foshan Station), they will continue to be exhibited in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
