In the past few days, Taibai Town, Suiyang County, has been grabbing agricultural time and taking the initiative to actively carry out spring agricultural production such as spring plowing and preparation, field management and protection, and spring harvest, and the fields have presented a busy scene of labor.
As the temperature gradually warms up, in the white tea planting base of Guanzhuang Village, Taibai Town, more than 300 acres of tea trees have grown tender green sprouts one after another, ushering in the 2024 spring tea picking season. Tea farmers took advantage of the good spring light, carried the tea basket through the tea ridges, and gently twisted their hands to pick the first "fresh" spring tea in early spring.
In the honeysuckle planting base on another hill, farmers shuttle between the hillsides and work hard, transporting seedlings, turning the soil, digging holes, planting seedlings, and covering the soil in one go. In recent years, Taibai Town has taken Guanzhuang Village as a pilot area for honeysuckle and flue-cured tobacco planting, and adopted the model of "village collective economy + cooperatives + large households" to develop honeysuckle and flue-cured tobacco industry.
"Our village planted more than 500 acres of honeysuckle, is currently replanting honeysuckle seedlings, we use the land to plant honeysuckle, the policy dividend of returning farmland to forest is enjoyed by the masses, the masses can also come here to work, the daily income is about 110 yuan, so not only the development of the industry, but also led the masses to increase their income and get rich. In the next step, we plan to interplant Chinese medicinal materials in the honeysuckle field to maximize the benefits of the land and increase the income of the village collective and the masses. Li Wei, deputy director of the Guanzhuang Village Committee, said.
This year, Taibai Town has made great efforts in spring ploughing production, and agricultural technicians are arranged by the towns and villages to carry out professional guidance for farmers in an all-round way from sowing and seedling raising to film mulching and ridge formation, adhering to the service concept of "doing it for farmers, leading farmers to do it, and earning with farmers", to help the masses solve the problems encountered in production, and to "take the pulse" for agricultural production, and make every effort to fight the first battle of spring ploughing production.
"According to the town's 'one heart first, two-line demonstration, three-point breakthrough' industrial planning layout, solidly promote the spring ploughing production work, timely convene mass meetings, implement the planting plan, standardize the demonstration site, do a good job in the guarantee of production materials, ensure that seeds, fertilizers and other agricultural materials are sufficient, and make overall plans to do a good job in drought resistance, water conservation, seedling raising, etc., to ensure that spring ploughing production is carried out in an orderly manner. Cheng Hui, a member of the Taibai Town Party Committee, said.
It is understood that in 2024, Taibai Town plans to plant more than 9,600 acres of corn, more than 7,500 acres of rice, more than 17,000 acres of chili peppers, more than 4,000 acres of honeysuckle, and more than 4,590 acres of flue-cured tobacco.
